LocoLoco1 Posted December 31, 2022 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2022 It appears CCL is finally showing it’s Corporate hand a bit more; ie No big purchases of ships. Wondering if they will retire more than they bring on line?

They have already sold 3 additional ships. 2 Costa and 1 from the somewhere else under the CCL umbrella. They haven't stated the names of the ships yet, but were specific that they were sold not scrapped.

Not a surprise in view of their precarious financial situation. Unfortunately, they anticipate a 3% growth in capacity in 2023, despite the ships they intend to sell. All it means is that they're slowly shedding the culture of breakneck growth. I see no evidence that they'll re-organize the brands in a rational way. That's what they need to do in order to thrive.
vicd1969 Posted December 31, 2022 #4 Share Posted December 31, 2022 RCL, NCL, and especially MSC are continuing to order new builds. Time will tell if CCL’s retrenchment with respect to new ships is a prudent strategy or another factor to a downward spiral.
Daniel A Posted December 31, 2022 #5 Share Posted December 31, 2022 It sounds to me that somebody at CCL listened when told "If you find yourself in a hole, stop digging." 1
