Wording on the "plus" Package (beverage)

We have 2 cruises booked for next year and both have the Plus Package included (booked before the change). This is the old package, not the new one. When looking at my cruises I noticed that the beverage package was worded a little differently.

First cruise: Plus Beverage Package Including Service Charges

Second cruise: Plus Beverage Package - 50

Anyone else notice this? And does it mean that they are different. I have had the "Plus" package before, so know what was included (before the change and increase in price).

Is this on your travel summary ?  I have multiple cruises booked for 2023, first one in March and all of them just say Plus Beverage Package

The difference in wording shows up if I look at the "Onboard Services" tab.

When I look at the Travel Summery there is still a slight difference in wording.

Travel Summery

First Cruise: Plus drinks with service charge

Second cruise: Plus Beverage Package

I am just scratching my head as to why the same package would have different wording.

What are the dates of the two cruise?  Is one prior to 2/20 and the other after 2/20?

They are both after 2/20; so I would expect the wording to be the same on both, yet they are not.

This is what shows on my Onboard Services tab......75/85 ??  Confused.
Any ideas?

75/85, that is even more confusing.

It’s a way to show whether you purchased Plus at the $50 pp per day price or the $60 pp per day price.  If you purchased at the higher price you get the newly added items ( premium desserts and exercise classes). Similarly the $75/$80  is to show what price you paid for Premier and whether you get the recently added items (reserved theater seating).

Why your two cruises say something different if you paid the lower pricing for both is a Princess IT mystery.

The wording on a newly booked cruise for the Plus package is totally different on mine.  This is from the onboard reservations page.

And the Travel Summary includes even more detail:

I also have access to what this looked like for the old Plus plan for the same cruise that I booked earlier (I cancelled this one and rebooked under a newer, better casino offer and both are active on the Personalizer until they transfer $$ from the old to the new one):

So it seems like there is variability in how they show the new plan, although oddly they are saying it's worth the same amount as the old one. 😕

I’m confused now too. We booked our cruise for June in November 2022 and have booked the Premier Plus Package.  Does this mean that we won’t get the enhanced benefits, that they are now selling. Seems a bit mean, if you’ve booked early. It says 75/80 beside our beverage package element, lists the photo package, 4 internet devices etc, but does not list the desserts etc. We are in the UK if that makes any difference. Not sure when these new enhancements first came into effect. We will enjoy either way, just curious.

You will get everything the package gave you, but not the enhanced  benefits,  such as reserved seats in the theatre etc, which are worth nothing.

Why do you think it is "mean"? They have increased the price of the Plus and Premium packages and included the "enhanced benefits" for those people who are paying more. If you didn't pay for them, why do you think you should get them? Just be happy that the price increase of the drinks is covered by your original price you paid and you don't have to pay out of pocket for the difference in price that the drinks now cost.

Did you book and pay for the the Plus or the Premier package?

Sorry The Premier package

You will received the benefits that was included when you booked.  The exception is the increase in the high limited for drinks (moved up to $20). Many people suspect Princess will be increasing the cost of drinks across the board, so the increased limit will offsite those increases.  To get the items marked as New, you need to pay more to upgrade.

Another question about the wording. When I pull up my account on my laptop and see the packages purchased, it names the beverage, Wi-Fi, gratuity package that we bought. It names our TA and the last column says Complimentary Gift. Does it always say that or did the TA gift us that?? Thank you!

Yup.  I normally book through 3rd party online TA's and it always has that wording.  First time, I was concerned, but nothing to worry about.  Same package, same benefits, it's just the TA gets extra credit (because you're price is higher).

Not sure I understand your comment. I booked through a TA and his price was almost $2K less than Princess and I got all the Plus benefits. Even with recent price drops on our cruise coming in March, I still am paying almost $1K less than the current price on the Princess website.

On my account is has always said "complimentary gift"......nothing to worry about. If you bought and paid for it, then no, your TA did not gift it to you.
