CHEERS Non-Alcoholic

Hey All,

I know this has been asked before, but with all the changes, I wanted to make sure I had the most accurate information. We will be sailing on the Panorama out of Long Beach on February 25th and were able to book with the Cheers to you promotion. Neither of us drink alcohol. Are milkshakes and smoothies still included? I think I saw there are protein shakes on the ship, but they aren't included with Cheers. Is that correct? Are you able to add protein to smoothies on the ship like you can at Jamba Juice or other smoothie shops? Any other pointers to make the most out of the package when we don't drink alcohol or any drinks not to miss? I know the Havana orange juice is not included. And since we have already paid, there are not other gratuities or fees we have to pay, correct? Thanks for all the help! People on these boards are usually pretty awesome!

I doubt they have protein powder on the ship or would even put it in for you if you wanted to bring some. I'm also not sure that they're capable of making anything more like a Jamba Juice style fruit smoothie; milkshakes are definitely included though, and they're sold at the coffee shop. I'm pretty sure you can also get any non-alcoholic drink that's sold in the little cooler case thing there (sodas, iced tea, energy drinks, etc) though I can't remember if they had pre-bottled protein shakes when I was on the Panorama in September.

Your best bet is to buy virgin pina colada, daiquiri, etc. I think Alchemy bar will do nonalcoholic fun mocktails (some people have reported grumpy bartenders who don't want to make something non-alc, but I think most would). And soda, coffee, bottled water - lots of bottled water!

When you paid for the package, an 18% gratuity was added, so no, you don't have to tip or pay a fee again. Some alcohol drinkers add extra tips because they're hoping for better service (remembering your drink, heavy handed liquor pour, etc), but I'm not sure how much of a difference that would make for you with all non-alc stuff. However, feel free to give extra if you do find a staff member who goes above and beyond. The coffee shop ladies knew my name by mid-cruise and I was astonished (I do have a slight caffeine addiction though...)

They don't have protein powders. I'm not sure I'd recommend Cheers to someone who doesn't drink alcohol but it's your money. Cheers really is an alcohol program, it's really hard to "make the most of it" without that. It's like trying to make the most of Arby's if you don't eat meat.

Thanks for the reply allinwonderland! That is what I was kind of thinking. I appreciate you tips and thoughts.

mz-s, we were going to get bottomless bubbles but I received a "cheers to you" booking offer that was about $20 more for both of us combined than if we got bottomless bubbles with a different booking offer. We both love our virgin pina coladas and I love smoothies and milkshakes, so we thought it was worth the extra $20 since we would have gotten a few things on top of bottomless bubbles. I appreciate you trying to save us some money! As for the protein, I think I saw they had muscle milk pre-made shakes, so I was checking on that and I didn't know if their smoothies were like Jamba or not and if they added power shots like Jamba does. Thanks for the response!

They offer muscle milk protein drinks, these are the single-serve cartons though. And like you said they're not included in Cheers.

It's a no brainer for only $20 more, I could easily drink $20 in specialty coffees and milkshakes.

The only thing that they have that would be considered a "smoothie" is Naked Juice.  That is in bottles at the coffee bar.  That is unless there is a bar with the ability to make a smoothie (which I have never seen, but I also have never asked).  There is nothing like a smoothie/juice bar such as Jamba on board.
