Can you use onboard credit at the casino?

I'm booking a cruise that will give us $500 onboard credit. Can that be used at the casino? Like when you're at the slot machine and you charge your room, will that be deducted from the onboard credit?

I'm just wondering if it's a general credit for whatever you might use your sign and sail for or if there's restrictions.

You can use it in the casino, there are no restrictions but they will charge a 3% service charge if you use it at table games, no charge at slots.

I don't get that... is it because they feel that you're more likely to lose it at slots than on a table? Heck, they should encourage people even more by offering a bonus when you charge (and actually use) money, lol...

you can upload into a slot machine-- but dont think it will allow the whole 500 with one shot

Well I won't be doing that anyways, pretty sure my husband would leave me 😂 I'm just trying to gauge how much cash I should bring since we spend most of our cash at the casino.

I don't get it either.  Why let slot players access cash for free, but not table players?  Does Carnival have a level of gambler where they waive the fee?  On Royal they waive the fee when you are Prime and that level isn't really that hard to achieve.

I don’t know if that’s why but carnival makes a lot more money off slot than table players. Hence why slot players earn more points.

On Celebrity, if you're in a RS or higher category cabin, they waive the 5% fee.

Put the money in a slot > Hit Cash Out > take the ticket to the Cashier > take the cash to a table game.

Easy peasy.

And that will get your charging privileges blocked in the casino.  OP needs to play a few spins before cashing out.

Not that I'm aware of, but they are waived on Premier, Elite, and Ultra cruises, and invitations to those are based on past play.  So kinda indirectly, to answer your question.

Getaways cruises as well

But even if you get those offers, the fees are only waived on those branded cruises. Not on regular cruises.

Yeah I was lumping them together with Premier (they all used to be called Premier), but the short Premier cruises are now branded as Getaway.
