We will be disembarking NCL Breakaway on November 12th. We have a flight back to the states at 12 :40pm. What would be the best, easiest, fastest way to get to the airport with plenty of time to check in?

Rome Cabs- have used twice, with 2 more to be reserved soon. Reliable and professional https://www.romecabs.com/transferservice/civitavecchia/

Thanks! Would they be there once you get off ship and out of the terminal? We would definitely do walk off and try and get off as early as possible but not sure the best time to schedule pick up.

I can only speak for Rome Cabs, yes, they will be there. When you book, be as specific as possible- they will monitor port arrivals. I assume these other companies do the same.  If you have any changes prior to arrival, you can email them- they are very responsive and quick with changes.  This is the Port Authority for Civitavecchia which will show the berth for all arrivals and departures- they usually post 1-2 months in advance.  https://civitavecchia.portmobility.it/en/cruises-port-civitavecchia-january

Almost all of the private agencies will meet you just outside your terminal building after you pick up your luggage. They only have to show at the gate some kind of confirmation that they are picking up specific passengers.

Taxis looking for a fare cannot meet you at this location. You'd need to take the port shuttle bus to the port gates. A hassle, and taxis are generally as expensive (if not more) than an arranged private transfer.

Do note that the time the ship docks is not necessarily the time you can get off the ship. Ship formalities need to be wrapped up and luggage set out.

With a pickup sometime between 8:00 am and 8:30 am you should have plenty of time to make your flight -- that would be one hour for the drive in order to arrive at FCO the recommended 3 hours before your flight to clear check-in, security, passport control, etc.

Thank you! I’m glad to see they will be waiting outside. I wasn’t sure if we had to take the shuttle bus to meet the car which would definitely be a pain.

OP here…Our flight, which was originally scheduled to leave at 12:40pm, now leaves at 1:50pm. Can we get off the ship around 9:15am with transfer at 9:30am? Not sure the latest we can leave the ship.

9:30 will be the latest you can be on the ship...pretty much the same on all cruise lines, all ports. They need to turn the ship over for the next cruise.
