Has anyone any experience to share regarding Windstar's private car/van tour of Saint Barts? Been to St.Barts alot but never left the waterfront shopping area. Is it worth it to get out from here and see anything unique for the Caribbean? Any info at all is appreciated. Thanks

This is a good, overall website. https://www.saintbarth-tourisme.com/en/home-of-st-barts-tourism/

St. Barth is all about the beaches. Many of them. One can experience 5-6 beaches during a typical cruise-ship stay on the island. If you feel comfortable driving yourself, there are several rental car companies located in Gustavia, near the harbor. It's a small island, driving is on the right, and its very difficult to get lost driving the island's "loop road".

I've been to St Barts a few times over the years and taken a couple of non-memorable side trips. Mostly overpriced high-end tourist shops. As I recall, the beach was packed with broken shells, painful to walk on. For my winter break this year on Wind Surf we will be stopping there twice. The water sports platform is open both days and I will be happy staying on board.

We rented a car a few times to get around the island.  Beware that while there are taxis, they have become very expensive.  We tend to go to St-Jean beach, very nice no shells.  You can rent chairs but they can be expensive as is everything in St Barth (15 to 50 euros a chair depending on the spot).  Despite the high costs, we love St Barth for its beaches, shopping restaurants and beach bars
