Has anyone contacted the IT team for the App to see if it’s an App error or glitch?

 

You need to tell them multiple guests have had their reservations disappear and have them check.  Not just your cruise but all different dates.

 

Call and report it to the App team. 

 

or

 

Email them 

askoceanmedallion@carnival.com

 

You will need to give them your full name, booking no, ship and sail date.

Put urgent in the subject field for the guest leaving next week. Or your sail date.

 

Post on here if you get an answer for others.

It will be interesting to see if any guests reports similar experience who are booked on other ships.  I have read similar and saw something similar last Fall.  Also, is this happening for all future voyages on Sky?

 

I am wondering if Princess is looking to keep one DR out of the DWM system pre-cruise considering it for walk-ups and on-board booking.  I have no idea how many guests per cruise on average make advance DR bookings versus those who continue to dine like the old AT system and just show up at the door.  

 

Of course, any sort of change like this is never announced nor explained and only inquisitive guests on the ship seem to get the correct answers.  Someone on Sky now *might* get an answer from the DRO or a DR Manager.

 

It won't be because they are expecting low capacity in future.  Doesn't make sense.  It won't be because off CC Dining - that is always mid-ship and never takes up an entire DR.

We're on the Sky at the end of next month. We have cc, and the app still shows us in Estrella. Since we all know that the app is infallible, we must still be in Estrella. 😂

we were on sky in mid-Dec.  Booked Cielo every night before the trip.  But when we got down there, they did not take reservations, its first come first serve.  There was only one line to enter, even though there was a sign says "reservation" entrance.  on the way out after first day, we asked for same table same time every day, were told "come at 5:00, first come first serve".

 

Service was great,  We sat at at same area every night, (not the same table, cause first come first serve). same waiters every night, same faces around us every night.  One couple gone to other dinning room one day, then came back next day, told the waiter Cielo is their dinning room for remaining the trip, cause they like Cielo better.

I sent an email to Princess to inquire about our Feb 25 - Mar 11 cruise on the Sky Princess:

We have made reservations for the Cielo main dining room for several nights on the Medallion app for our 14 day cruise and yesterday these reservations vanished and this dining room does not appear as an option to reserve.
 
Is this an IT issue with the app or is this MDR not available? Will there only be 2 MDR available for reservations during our cruise? If so, I suspect a lot of unhappy cruisers trying to get seated in the 2 remaining MDR.
 
This is the response I got back:
 

Thank you for your email, you have reached the MedallionClass Support Team, we will do our best to assist you.

 

We apologize for the challenge you've been experiencing and are eager to help you get OceanReady.

 

We tested your app account this morning and see no data conflicts, we also see you booked into the Cielo Dining room for dates Feb 25 to Mar 05., and the Crown Grill on Mar., 04. The remaining dates do not show any reservations.

 

The Cielo room does not appear to available for the remaining leg of your journey Mar., 06 to Mar., 11. At this time we do not have the specific reason as to why one of the dining rooms are not available currently. However the two remaining rooms are available, that being the Estrella on deck 5 and the Soleil on deck 6. Please visit the app to make reservations for one of these room to insure a desirable seating time.

 

Please let us know if you need further assistance.

At the bottom of the email they provided a link to an online version of the Medallion app ( https://oceanready-personalinfo-ui.prod.ocean.com/ ) - once I logged into that and went to Dine My Way my reservation for the Cielo MDR showed up so I suspect this is another bug with the Medallion app. They are probably looking at it online and see nothing wrong while we are looking at our reservations on our app and do not see the reservation. Lets hope it is just a bug they can fix.

Thanks for sharing.  Glad you got an answer even though it still doesn’t answer your questions.  Why can’t you see your reservations on your app and why did you lose the rest of your reservations?  
Guess we will figure it out onboard 🙂

Interesting!!  I followed the link and my reservations are there for both weeks except for turnaround day.  Oh well!  At least I won’t have to cook or do the dishes! 😂

Same thing happened to me on the March 11th Sky sailing.  All of my reservations in Cielo were gone, but my specialty dining was still there.  So I rebooked all of those dates in Soleil.  Was able to get the same time.

 

Now seeing the link for the web based site, I now find I have two reservations for all of those nights.  Go figure....I didn't know they would let you do that.  So now I am afraid I will lose both of them if they discover this.  Will probably cancel out of one of the dining rooms.

I did receive an additional email from Princess:

I just now finished writing a detailed account of what is happening and submitted it to the various involved teams I also included the social media team. I will follow up with you as soon as there is some clarity. I am getting on top of this as quickly as I can.

This is interesting.   When I first realized that my reservations for the Cielo dining room were gone I immediately booked for the Estrella.    Then upon reading this thread where people were saying their reservations for the Cielo still existed online (but not in the app) I was sorry that I was so hasty in rebooking.   Today I went to the online link provided in post #35 and lo and behold I had reservations for both dining rooms!!!    And the same time!!  So I canceled the Estrella and I am hoping the the original reservations for the Cielo are still valid.   Time will tell.   Worst case we just show up.

The menus are the same.  service may vary and Cielo may be less hectic due to its off the beaten path location.  Further, Cielo is very convenient for those with more-aft staterooms.  Folks more mid-forward might prefer the DRs off the atrium.  This DR is a little larger than the others and also has the Chef's Table.

 

Some of us old-timers who loved Traditional were conditioned to using the aft dining room as that was historically the Traditional DR.  Prior to the Royal Class, I always booked more aft as a result.  With the Royal Class, I prefer a mid-ship mini with the bump out to get a bigger balcony.  All things being equal, I use one of the mid-ship DRs now.

Same thing happen to me for my cruise this Saturday the 28th. All my reservations at Cielo for 7pm cancelled. I had to switch to Soliel at 7:40. Really wanted 7pm!

Look at the website version of the App and look at DMW.  It may show your original DMW at the Cielo.  Take a screenshot of it.  It’s an App issue, so you may be holding both reservations.

 

The MDR Mgr will have to fx this if your leaving in 2 days.
