Good evening,

When and where is there dancing on the Ovation?

Thank you.

Hi L -

It’s basically the same as our Aug-Sept cruise on the Quest.  The Ovation is a slightly larger ship and a few years newer, but the daily schedule is pretty much the same.  The “Club” is slightly larger as is the dance floor….

Hope you are well…..

Jodi & Frank

Used to be live music, mixture of rock/pop, three or four piece electric band + singer in the club. I recall reading recently that the live band has been replaced by a DJ (🥺). Then there is the deck party, dancing to live music on the pool deck, rock/pop/soul again. Never seen Ballroom dancing anywhere on Seabourn, though one sometimes sees a couple of professional (crew) dancers doing jive at the deck party.

In 2019, on the Quest from Reykjavik to Montreal, there was ballroom dancing in the Club, and also ballroom dancing lessons in the Club too. In 2022, on the Quest again, there was dancing in the Club, both ballroom and disco. As for ballroom, there were couples doing cha cha, swing, foxtrot, waltz and rumba. The trio would also accept requests for any particular style of dance music. Even with a DJ, I guess you can still ask for special dance music.

At least on Sojourn in December it was still live music at night in the club - Larisa and the Band, who were great.  Would be fine to have DJ part of the time, but would hate to see the live Band go away.

Still live Music in the club pre-dinner and after the show on Quest now. I have seen some passengers doing ballroom mainly cha cha, foxtrot and rhumba pre dinner. There are dance classes at 11am most sea days. Post show dancing is more likely modern free form dancing. Both bands that alternate have been excellent.

In the Obs bar there is Felippo a very good pianist and singer and if you have a particular song you want which he doesn't know give him a few days and he will try to learn it for you. No dancing there though.

On our Grand Pacific Voyage last Autumn more than once, Ian the Assistant CD, who is seriously talented, did an hour or two on the piano in the Obs Bar after the show.  He took requests, the place was rocking with lots up dancing!

Such happy memories!
