Kenhel Posted January 28, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 28, 2023 We are booked on B2B cruises in 2024: a 14-day Rome to Barcelona followed by a 25-day Barcelona to Ft Lauderdale on Sun Princess (same cabin for both cruises). These cruises are also sold as different segments. Barcelona is an important stop for us so considering changing the segments so Barcelona is not the last day of the first leg of the B2B. We have never done a B2B so unsure of the process and do not want it to cut into our time in port. This itinerary is also available as: a 23-day Rome to Southampton followed by a 16 day Southampton to Fort Lauderdale with Southampton being a overnight stop. Is it possible to adjust the segments of a existing B2B princess cruise booking without cancelling and repricing?
tcdcruiser Posted January 28, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Your B2B as planned should not impact time in Barcelona. IMHO it will help since I would suggest B2B passengers will be collected and processed through border protection early in the process.

Assuming your prior 7 day cruise is all in the Schengen area, there is no border formalities at all in Barcelona - it's essentially a normal port day for you. Some people will disembark, some will board, some will stay from the prior leg to the next. For you, it would basically be a normal port day. Come and go as you like. Kenhel Posted January 28, 2023 Author #4 Share Posted January 28, 2023 Thank you reedprincess. There is a stop in Montenegro 5 days prior to arriving in Barcelona. I have done a bit of research and it doesn't look like it is one of countries in the Schengen area. Other information indicates Canadians/Americans do not need a visa to enter Montenegro but not sure if that port will result in a border process in Barcelona. It hasn't ever resulted in any changes or extra border screening in Barcelona or Civitavecchia when we've sailed through them in the past Last time through, Barcelona was exactly as I described - straight up port day for us. We slept late, exited the ship around 10, grabbed a cab, went to a few sites, and came back about 90 minutes before sail away... Enjoy.

There is no time ashore difference in Barcelona in changing the B2B as you indicate is possible. No matter how you have it booked, the ship arrives at the same time, lets people exit the ship at the same time, and sails at the same time. If you did want to make the B2B change, it would be subject to the then current pricing and perks. You would be canceling the booking you have and losing any pre-booked Princess shore excursions ($$$ would be refunded) and any onboard reservations including DMW dinner reservations. Any Princess EZAir bookings would usually also be lost.
