Chances of a Coastal Kitchen Reservation for Jr. Suite

There are no Grand Loft suites on Symphony.  Those are On Q class.  Guessing they meant either Grand suite or Crown loft suite, neither of which are Star class

You are so correct - we were Crown Loft suite - sky class and still couldn't get easily get into the Coastal Kitchen for dinners.   For lunch there was always availability.

Some ships can have 100 Pinnacles (or more)  on board.  Of course, I’m not referring to a repositioning/transatlantic which is very heavy Pinnacle (Often 200 or more.)

Sure - and at the same time will have a minimum of 172, but typically more around 250 people in the junior suites, so as you see even in those cases only half as many Pinnacles.

Hence, why it's easier to squeeze in the Pinnacles, disregarding the status priority and even that the wording indicates they have priority.

With limited availability, who gets priority— the pinnacle member or a guest in a JS?

thanks

Not having read any follow-on posts.  My guess to the answer to your question is that Pinnacle would have priority.  Pinnacle has unlimited availability to the CK, whereas a JS has CK availability only at dinner time and only if space available.

Others suspect it is JS.

Pinnacle  are  often excluded  from CK for Breakfast.  Now on some ships, Ps get a voucher for one CK lunch and one CK  dinner per person per cruise.

Changes in CK availability have nothing to do with cutbacks.  When P were  granted access, there were just a handful on each cruise.  Being Pinnacle was unusual. I was told (more than once) that the reason for the long stretch from D+ to Pinnacle was to show extreme loyalty.  P numbers have climbed, especially since the return to sailing and the venue simply cannot accommodate all those who are now eligible.   Some recall being told that P's would always have the same benefits as suite guests, but sadly that just isn't feasible.

As far back as I can recall, JS had dinner access if space was  available.

Did your concierge contact you the week before your sailing?  When we've been in Sky Class, we've always had an email from the Concierge early in the week before our cruise.  We replied with our CK reservation requests.

I think JS should trump Pinnacle for dinner.

They actively market that as a benefit

That being said, we've never been able to get into CK as a JS to even make reservations or get seated on an Oasis ship.  Maybe they move the desk outside???

Knock on the door. LOL

Master’s tier level in the casino gets access to the suite lounge and the Coastal Kitchen. I have heard that Master’s level gets priority over Pinnacle, but can not verify if that is true on all ships.

This is true. My Masters tier gets me into CK for B/L/D even when I would be denied as a Pinnacle.

On our last CK cruise suites had priority, a pinnacle was allowed to make a (singular) booking upon embarkation and was waitlisted for other nights, the JS in the queue was advised that they had to reach out the morning they wanted to dine for dinner to check availability.

it is really going to depend on how many suite guests are utilizing CK and how many are on dining packages, then how many Pinnacles are on board then the JS will just get the leftovers.

As we are Pinnacles in a JS for our next cruise, looks like we have two methods to snag a CK table.   I wonder whether May Wonder cruises will have lots of Pinnacles.  I've seen some low numbers -- it looks like Allure out of Galveston has very large Pinnacle numbers.

Wonder will be higher in May. If you want lower numbers head south

Then we'll just have to do a few specialty restaurants and take CK when we can get it.  We pretty much are wedded to Port Canaveral and are booked on May 21.  And I'll put a bid in for Royal Up.

Like I said in a previous post that got deleted with some others, I don't cruise JS and I'm nowhere near P.  And like you, I'm guessing/thinking that P would have priority because they have no time/meal restrictions, just require reservations/availability whereas JS are restricted to the dinner meal only and only with reservations/availability.  My logic, P has proven to be a loyal/repeat customer, the kind of customer that any business would be looking to do what they can to have them come back.  I'd guess/think many JS customers are one and done, at least one and done in a JR suite (yes, there are some that are loyal to the JSs), but P is proven to be loyal to the brand.  As usual, I could be wrong.

This is my opinion, it doesn't have to be anybody else's.  I'm not trying to force anything on anybody.  And this is a discussion board!

Our go to cabin is a JS....it suits our needs for just the two of us.

Though when we sail on a ship that has a CK...we always book GS and above.  As a Pinnacle, we may or may not have access, and JS is never a guarantee either...so we don't take that chance that we could be excluded.  Not to mention having to knock on the door for access...no thanks.

With the ships sailing so full now, and even overbooked....

We haven't been "one and done" for a JS for at least 10 years.  We try to get good deals (often book when cruises are released) and if possible book a GS (future cruise credits from the Covid shutdown have helped) or try for a Royal Up.  JSs have great walk-in closets etc.

You know we always sail from Port Canaveral so it's harder to get a GS on Wonder because there are fewer of these suites.  However, Allure is coming to Port C in November and we are doing a back2back on her in a GS -- don't care where she goes -- just want the suite/CK experience.  Got a great price when sailings were released.  About $2,000 less than a JS on Wonder.

Knocking on CK's door doesn't bother me as long as we have a table -- I just pretend we're going to a Speakeasy during Prohibition.  🤣

I hope that you and everybody else noticed that I said, "I'd guess/think many JS customers are one and done".  So, yes of course, there are many of you that swear by the JS.  I had no intent nor did I show/type any animus towards those that like and repeat their choice of JSs.
