Dar & Bob Posted January 31, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2023 Hotel Smeraldo - small boutique hotel near most everything. Walking distance to Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon and the Coloseum. When we stayed breakfast was included. There is a fabulous bakery ($$) across the street. Can't say how much we enjoyed this hotel. Rooms are typically small, but great bathroom and room This is the link : https://www.smeraldoroma.com/en/
TwoGee Posted January 31, 2023 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2023 Hotel Lancelot. It's in a residential section minutes from the Coliseum. We stayed pre and post cruise and enjoyed our stay.

Rare cruisemom42 Posted January 31, 2023 #6 Share Posted January 31, 2023 There is a long thread on the Italy Ports of Call forum here on Rome hotels, with lots of input on various hotels around the city center/tourist area. The key is to be centrally located. If you are, it's easy to walk to just about everything, except possibly the Vatican which is outside of the "magic circle". I've stayed in several hotels across the city on many visits, and my favorite remains the Albergo del Senato, located on the same piazza as the Pantheon. 2

Jeremiah1212 Posted February 1, 2023 #9 Share Posted February 1, 2023 We stayed recently at U Visionary near Trevi. It just opened in the last year or so. Very very dark rooms (which were great for sleeping off jet lag) and very large room and bathroom, especially by European standards. Breakfast was included on site. They will arrange any transportation you need. Would definitely stay here again.
Wishing on a star Posted February 2, 2023 #10 Share Posted February 2, 2023 (edited) I just looked at Smeraldo, but I see they are at the Pantheon. Would love to book Harry's! But they are a lot more expensive per night. I was liking the thought of being in the Trevi / Spanish steps neighborhood.
