nikkiml Posted January 31, 2023 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2023 Hello everyone, we are a group of 14 and we have just received our flights schedules. Our flight out from Miami is at 11h40, do we need to worry that it will be tight ? What is the earliest we can disembark ? We are planning to book a private car service to bring us at the airport. Thank you,
Rare shof515 Posted January 31, 2023 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2023 it will be tight but seems doable earliest is around 730ish when they start self assist where you can carry the bags off the ship yourself. the airport is only about 15-20 minutes away from the port make sure everyone in your group has tsa precheck this will help with getting thru airport security somewhat quicker
Rare Lupush Posted January 31, 2023 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2023 You should be fine as long as you get off the ship by 8am. Make sure you have a reputable car service booked. The Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Ports of Call boards have lots of information on the best car services.

Thank you, There is no problem with the time (I will be on the Encore and my flight out of Miami is 10:15). Your flight is an international flight, so you'll need to show up to the airport a little earlier than US domestic flight. Your group needs have a quick breakfast. Have a meeting point at 7:45 am near the disembarkation door. Move as a group off the ship. Carry yourself to minimize the chance of lost luggage and baggage hall delays. Move as a group through the terminal, baggage hall, and customs and immigrations. Once outside, the pick-up area is very small for a big ship and there will be lots and lots of people, so your group needs to stay together.
zqvol Posted January 31, 2023 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2023 Not even close to tight. You will have plenty of time to make that flight as long as you are off the ship by 9:15.

They're flying to Canada which is a PIA so more time needed.

Airlines have additional time requirements for international flights. 9:15, being on the curb around 9:45-10:00, waiting for a transport van for 14 people, getting the van packed up, travel to the airport, getting the van unpacked, international check-in. At each step of the process, you are herding a large group around, and you have to stop until everyone is through each step. The timeline does not work. It may work for a solo with a roll-a-board jumping in a taxi, but not for a large international group. Side note: In December, when we disembarked in Miami, CBP was doing full immigrations process (no facial recognition) and non-US citizens were routed to a separate line. And they were pulling people from the US Citizen line for secondary interviews, which slowed things a bunch. I think that this was an isolated instance, but getting out the terminal door took a while. 1
