Those who get offers dont need a minimum gambling amount, however they would have inserted or tapped their seapass card at least once to have their captains club number synced and automatically registered with the Blue Chip Club. That was explained to me on my recent cruise by a casino manager

Prior to our December BCC cruise, we barely set foot in the casino, but when we did, we put our card in the slot machine and made sure our account was credited for what play we did. You also have to make sure your account is signed up to received "marketing" emails from Celebrity. Other than that? No idea why or how we were "chosen". I do think they know that having us on board is far more profitable than leaving the room empty.

Some will also add internet and contribute a little to the casino. So both the guest and Celebrity win

I guess I was not one of the lucky ones. Good for those of you who were selected!! It sounds like these are pretty good choices! Have fun!! I quit smoking in June of 2015 (bear with me) and our next cruise was our last and final Carnival 5-day, because it fit the time we had available. I tried gambling in the non-smoking section and that made me realize that the only reason I gambled was because I could sit and smoke at the table. It was then that we transferred our allegiances from NCL to X. I have NEVER gambled on X, unless you count our second ever cruise on Zenith in 2003. My Captain's Club number has never been linked to a Blue Chip account until X did it this year and sent me a 10% off offer just before our Mexican Riviera cruise on Solstice last week, which is the first time my SeaPass card has EVER said 'PEARL' on it! I know that a large number of passengers on our cruise lase week had free staterooms. How they determine who to send the offers to I don't know, but it makes sense that bodies are better than empty rooms and a good way to fill them is with free offers, especially when the bounce-back after Covid is considered. Our last cruise in December on Reflection was a free cruise but my wife used my card for a while on the slots and now I have gotten BCC offers but only for the 10% off deals. She is the one that has gotten the free offers and we will be on the Equinox next month. She got the recent free offer on Solstice but will pass it up living in S.C. It makes logical sense to simply reduce the gambling requirements to those who had descent play on their last sailing. What they did was offer it to pax who have been on many X sailing without ever gambling. We have to remember these offers do not have any playing requirements. So if a non-gambler booked on this offer doesn’t, you know, gamble, X won’t send you a bill for the free room

I looked up what cruises I had interest in and had plenty of available rooms left then called and simply asked would those cruises qualify for the offer. After a brief hold I was told yes, selected the one I wanted most, picked my room and the booking was made. I echo what others have said in it all depends on who you get and the availability of the sailing at the time you inquire. Good luck!

If you have enough play or the current offer you booked the original sailing hasn’t expired (they generally expire in a week) you can make changes. However once the offer is expired or if you do not have enough play you can no longer just “swap”
Tray_kov Posted February 10, 2023 Author #39 Share Posted February 10, 2023 Called today. They were able to switch to a different sailing (changing departure ports) but could only offer a discount (700 off) so I guess I will have to wait for another promotion. Only took 10 years for this one lol. Good luck everyone
sixpackeddie Posted February 10, 2023 #40 Share Posted February 10, 2023 We had a 7 night concierge cabin booked in July to Bermuda for my wife, myself and our 13 year old daughter. The cost was $750 through blue chip for taxes and fees. Since we did that cruise last summer I just changed it to a 12 night Scandinavian cruise on the Apex in the summer and the taxes and fees were $180 less so they gave me the credit back to my visa. Was really surprised there was a credit as it went from a 7 night to 12 night cruise. It was super quick and easy.

So how does this work? Can you get it from a bartender? Just say I'm here on a Blue Chip cruise? Do you need to be sitting and playing and have a waiter come by? I've seen posts similar to yours but never an explanation on how to actually get the free drinks.

Yes, you need to have your room card actually in a slot machine or be at a table game playing. Then just call over a server, request your drink, and confirm it's complementary. Good luck everyone Around six months ago they seemed to have greatly increased the playing requirements for all sailings except they kept requirements the same/low for the Mexican Riviera and Puerto Rico sailings. If you qualify for a comped Mex Riv/PR sailing six months ago you most likely would have qualified for most X sailings

Take a peak at the classic drink package because if you order a premium drink they usually don’t tell you. It’s been a while since I’ve made this mistake but when I did they charged me for whole amount, not the discounted amount If you care about drinks more than play, sit at a penny slot machine by the bar because the servers have to walk by you Edited February 11, 2023 by NutsAboutGolf

Cruising89143 Posted February 11, 2023 #48 Share Posted February 11, 2023 After reading through the comments it is amazing how different RCI and X are in terms of how they operate their casino programs. We receive offers weekly from RCI plus they have a website. We cruised nine cruises last year with RCI. Seven were casino cruises and all in Junior Suites or higher. Once you make Prime which is 2500 points drinks are free in the casino and you do not have to be playing. We have set at the bar and had cocktails. Right now RCI has a much better program. X needs to tap into RCI and I’m surprised that they’re not since they’re all under the same umbrella.
jkutravels Posted February 11, 2023 #49 Share Posted February 11, 2023 I just booked a B2B with a free cruise casino promotion. Do I get the OBC on the free cruise also, or just on the cruise that I paid for? One rep on the phone said I will but my booking was finalized by another rep and no OBC amount was on my booking sheet. Just curious. Thanks. They’re fundamentally different, on RCI you get free room offers based on your current sailing play as you generally receive a free room offer on the last night. That offer has a code and you have months for the offer to expire X seems decades behind, you don’t receive your tier points until a few days after the sailing ends for table games. That means you cannot utilize your current sailings play to book a BCC sailing with Future cruises Edited February 11, 2023 by NutsAboutGolf
