Hotel in Bologna Pre Cruise

Has anyone done a pre-cruise night in Bologna before their cruise?  I am looking for a hotel near the airport so we can take the RCL bus from the airport to Ravenna for the cruise.  If you have a recommendation for a hotel close to the airport that has transportation back and forth or is on the airport property would appreciate your thoughts.  Thanks in advance.

The city of Bologna is beautiful with the best food in Italy!   There is a mono rail connecting the airport with the city centre. Please don’t stay at the airport!!!

We stayed last year at the Gia grand hotel bagliano. Wonderful hotel. Great location. Superb staff. Delicious food. Lovely rooms. Highly recommended. Pricey but worth every penny.

Agree with "little britain", better to stay in a city. We stayed in hotel "Atlantic", walking distance from railway station in Bologna. The are lots of trains  during the day to Ravenna.

We are also looking at a pre cruise stay, but in my last conversation with Air2Sea, I was advised there were transfers from Bologna to the Ravenna cruise port?

I like the NH hotel and the Star hotel both near Bologna train station.

We stayed at the Star hotel post-cruise. It is in Bologna city and directly across the street from the train station.

Any hotel suggestion near Piazza Maggiore? Asking in regard to our trip next summer.
