erienetuser Posted March 5, 2023 #1 Share Posted March 5, 2023 I know I can't use a power strip with a surge protector, but my universal travel adapter has surge protection. Does this mean I can't use it? Thanks!

No. check Amazon for universal “cubes.” For example, check out the one made by Tessan. Description says “no surge protector.”

SoloAlaska Posted July 13, 2023 #7 Share Posted July 13, 2023 Not all adapters have surge protection. We never use “fancy” adapters but instead by the very simple ones and make sure our devices are compatible. Items like hair straighteners in particular make sure they are dual voltage depending where you are using them in the world.

So yes, they are fine. I bought one each for my family's cabins (only I think they were beige) on a group cruise to AK.
