New to NCL

Recommended Posts

First time on NCL and Getaway in May.  Considering the priority boarding, just so we can be on the ship as early as possible.  Also, I know of one tender port and this will give us priority tender access.  Does anyone know if Dominica is a tender port?  Also, anyone purchased this?  Interested in opinions

if you are willing to get to port early (930-10) you can get on the ship fairly quickly and save yourself the money.  youll need to check in right on day 20 in order to secure this time.  the early slots go fast.

Thanks good to know.  We live about 40 min from the port and plan on being there by 9am.

i read on another thread that NYC was a disaster with regard to this and people that paid for it didnt get it.  we are always usually group 1 or 2 boarding after the VIPs around 1130am.  we love to be on as soon as possible.

funny though, on disembark especially in NYC where we can drive, we aim to be first off so we can get home.  we always do easy walk off, saves time and aggravation except for those who attempt to do it and really have no business doing it.

I would not waste the money on Priority Boarding.  Spend that money on an excursion in the port that you have to tender.  Your excursion ticket will give you priority for the tenders.  Excursion guest are gathered in one location and led excursion by excursion to the tenders.

Enjoy

What is the tender port?  If its only Great Stirrup Cay, don't bother with priority boarding.  There is a 50/50 or so chance that you will miss this port if the weather is not great.

No need for Priority. Spend your money on shore.

To clarify prior posts, online check-in (where you select you check-in time) opens when your count down clock on your app and MyNCL account hits 21 days prior to cruise, 12 midnight eastern time. If you want an early check-in time, you need to log on at midnight eastern time as your countdown clock ticks to 21. By day 20, all early times will be sold out.
