buddyjones Posted April 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 1, 2023 (edited) Is the Deluxe Beverage Package worth it? Where do you start to evaluate this option? I see all manner of Cruise Critic forum and Facebook posts on the subject. I finally decided to build this basic decision tree, meant to be fun and practical, and really should help most people I’ve read asking questions about this package. Goal - Help most cruisers get their hands around this option, and hopefully make a quicker decision so they can move on to the next thing! Is the decision tree perfect? No. Too many variables, but the goal is to help most people make a decision and move on. See FAQ at end of page 2 and RCL flyer describing the DBP on page 3. Enjoy and cheers! HicksRA Posted April 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 1, 2023 Looks too much like a boring presentation I used to have to sit through at work…

goldfish65 Posted April 1, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 1, 2023 (edited) Helpful and concise especially for someone new to cruising or new to Royal. Thanks! Edited April 1, 2023 by goldfish65
taglovestocruise Posted April 1, 2023 #5 Share Posted April 1, 2023 You left off all the bottled water, fresh juice and specialty coffee you would drink each day. Also some start the day with 4, 5 or 6 free drinks loaded onto their sea pass every day of the cruise.
Vacationdreamer<>< Posted April 1, 2023 #6 Share Posted April 1, 2023 I love it It's great. I don't really drink at all, so I didn't need the tree - but I appreciate the flow chart!

Welcome to CC. Financially, the decision has been pretty simple since the package has been offered, the only thing that has changed slightly is the break even point - about 5-6 drinks/day. ShillyShally Posted October 19, 2023 #8 Share Posted October 19, 2023 Love the rationale on the within 15% - the convenience alone of the drink package on our cruise last week was worth it. And we got our money's worth but truly the convenience is one of my favorite parts. It also helped we went to both private islands where it worked too. Our next cruise is more port heavy and while I want the convenience, I'm not sure it will be worthwhile, I'm hoping for some sales since it's a 9 night! wolfcathorse Posted October 19, 2023 #10 Share Posted October 19, 2023 well done! Your analysis gave me my smile for the day. However, back in the day, I figured it took 7 drinks to break even and I kept track, by the end of the cruise I struggled to average over 7 a day.
