Weather Temperatures on Transatlantic cruise from Florida to Spain?

Recommended Posts

We've taken two northern transatlantics (NYC to Southhampton and Amsterdam to Tampa) and were surprised that daily high temps were in the 40s despite it being July and August.  Now we are taking a transatlantic from Florida to Spain in May.  Can anyone tell me what  to expect for daily temps while in the middle of the atlantic?   I know once we arrive temps will be in the 70s but not sure how cold it will be during this more southern crossing.  Thanks

On the three that we have done, most days were sunny and mild, BUT the wind, due to the speed of the ship and not having land to divert the air, made it feel cool a lot of the time.  I frequently wore a couple of layers, with long sleeves, if I was out on the open decks.

I might also mention that in the Med, on land, we have experienced everything from short-sleeves days (but not shorts) to days in which I wore layers of shirt, fleece, and rain jacket.

But I am envious; it is my favorite kind of cruise!

Thank you for your new topic on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising. Your inquiry concerns a transatlantic cruise and is off topic there.

To help you out I have moved your new topic to the Transatlantic, Transpacific, Repositioning & Trans-Ocean Cruises forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed transatlantic cruises frequent this forum and provide feedback here. Browse through the thread titles on this forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you.

suggest you use the Follow feature on this thread or any other thread where you are interested in the new replies. That way you will not have to go looking to see if there are new replies because they will come looking for you as notifications! If you need more info on how to do it, please click the following: How to: Follow Topics & Forums (Subscribed Threads/Forums Info)
