artvlay Posted April 10, 2023 #1 Share Posted April 10, 2023 I'm contemplating booking on Eclipse, thinking of an OceanView all the way forward on deck eight. Are these larger than the OceanView on deck three? Do they have any view? Thanks
Rare cruisestitch Posted April 10, 2023 #2 Share Posted April 10, 2023 The view is over the helipad. The ceiling and window are slanted there so you could easily bump your head if not careful!
Rare mahdnc Posted April 10, 2023 #3 Share Posted April 10, 2023 (edited) The forward OV cabins have a view of the ship's helicopter pad, bow, and the scenery in front of the ship. We have had the FV cabins right next to them and when I have glanced inside the OV cabins, they seem very large. Here is the view through our Deck 8 forward (and slanted) cabin window on Solstice to give you an idea of what your view may look like: Solstice gliding towards Akaroa, New Zealand, December 29, 2019 Edited April 10, 2023 by mahdnc
Rare cruisestitch Posted April 10, 2023 #4 Share Posted April 10, 2023 (edited) These rooms can be very rough and even sometimes noisy because you often hear the lines being lowered and raised as the ship approaches and leaves the dock. If you are an early riser that probably won’t matter but if you’d like to sleep in, it can be hard to ignore. On the other hand the view can be amazing.
