karmamule Posted May 7, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 7, 2023 Back a few years ago we booked 14 days on Meraviglia as two 7 day cruises B2B. On day 8 in Miami we had to disembark then immediately board again. Next year we have 14 days on Seascape but it was listed and booked as a single 14 day cruise. Will we still have to disembark and reboard on day 8 or is it different because it was booked as a 14 day cruise? Not a big deal either way, I was just wondering while idly daydreaming about the cruise ☺️
Até Posted May 7, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 7, 2023 On US based sailings the ship must "zero out" and all passengers must minimally do an immigration check off the ship regardless if they booked as two 7 day or one 14 day cruise.
phissy Posted May 7, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 7, 2023 We had 15 day cruise. Booking had 1 number. It ended up being a B2B. Sold in Europe as such. We still had to do the off and on dance. Funny, we ended up getting voyager points for only 7 days on this cruise. After repeated emails , no answer or additional points posted to account. CruisingFox27 Posted May 7, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 7, 2023 No difference for a 14 night or two 7 night cruises, you'll need to disembark for the customs and immigration zero count.

karmamule Posted May 8, 2023 Author #6 Share Posted May 8, 2023 Thanks for the replies! That's what I suspected, but good to know for sure. I always find it helps to set expectations properly before the cruise to avoid feeling annoyed during it.
Brighton Line Posted May 8, 2023 #7 Share Posted May 8, 2023 Even the Staten Island Ferry has to zero out at each terminal on each trip. No one can board until the Mate reports to the wheelhouse that all passengers have gone ashore and a Captain (there are two both are in the Wheelhouse during docking/undocking) gives permission to board.

That company policy, not a CBP or federal requirement. They could just as easily decide to allow riders to stay on board, but they choose to require that everyone get off. Actually since 9/11 a Coast Guard regulation, even the SI Ferry zeros out at each terminal part of MARSEC I believe

When you are on a 10 day cruise (3&7) when you get back on the ship do you have to put your credit card in again or is only once for the whole cruise? Same for our prior back-to-back of two 7 days. Only had to register CC once.
