There are more than 68 people who post a lot but don't click the follow button,

myself being one that hasn't done so .

Granted C C is just a tiny speck of who sail with P&O but leaving web sites aside  I do

wonder what the actual number is of P&O return bookings ?

At a guess far more than those who not return , other than that they would soon be going bust .

On TV  last night a travel program forecast that the cruise industry is actually set to grow this year .

Did they mention the great bingo ripoff. Apparently 1.6m cruise critic members, but only 27,273 " follow ". About 15,000 a week cruise on P&O. Statistics are wonderous animals.

in the past 12 months we have been on Iona twice plus Arvia and Britannia. loved all three ships😀 and did not experience any big problems that would make us feel not to book again, in fact got two more booked for Arvia.

Since lockdown ended we have been on Britannia x3, Iona, Celebrity Silhouette, Anthem and Azura twice. Although we enjoyed them all and overcame any slight issues, other folk didn't.  Some will never, ever sail with P&O again. I tend to go with what we experience and tend to ignore heresay.

Until a few months ago  I didn't know anything about "Follow " 20+ years and I didn't know. I have now unfollowed. I may follow somewhere else to get their numbers up.

One has to remember these are all personal opinions from the 68 people who follow this forum. That is out of thousands who cruise with P&O. I have to disagree with Interestedcruisefan on most points but will say that most of my complaints have happened to me and numerous others.

Well I follow this forum all the time but not sure what you mean by 68 people follow it. Is there a button somewhere to click to follow it. Anyway even if there is why do I need to click a button whenI have the tab open for the P & O page anyway,

From And Then There Were Three ... seems very appropriate for this thread!

Takes me back to my Knebworth days "A Mid Summer Nights Dream"🙂

Well in 2023 so far we have completed 4 cruises with 4 different lines and 4 widely varying price points (several more booked for the rest of the year).

P&O was the cheapest of the lot. I didn’t enjoy the food in the MDR but did enjoy the speciality restaurants, many others do enjoy the MDR just fine.  I did however get a reasonable cruise taking me to some nice ports of call with good entertainment. As a filler cruise it was very good value for money.

No it wasn’t as good as my yacht club suite on MSC but then it cost half the price. All things are relative.

I still take the odd cruise with P&O because they offer a reasonable product for a reasonable price and the ability to change the things you perhaps don’t like as much to an extent eg book better restaurants, Limelight for different entertainment, excursions to go further afield than the immediate ports etc.

If you go to the main page for P&O cruises where the topics are listed you will see the amount who have clicked follow, just same as this page next to title shows 13 at present .

All this does is alert you to new posts ,that's if you click follow for that page .

In no way does it mean others do not read the posts as yours and other posters have proven .

I would assume that with the bigger ships now and the number of ships still in service

Surely far more people must be choosing to cruise with P and O than ever before ?

That can only happen if people are enjoying what they get, rebooking or recommending friends

It takes more than 68 posters on here to fill these ships week in week out

I agree, as would the majority of my friends and family that have been on P&O. While any holiday has the possibility of things going wrong, the positives far outweighs the negatives - if you’re a positive person then it’s easy to see the benefits, albeit sometimes things do go wrong and can be improved.

Great value for money, great staff, and I’ve been to some lovely places and met some nice people I’d never have otherwise seen.

Well. the last two cruises, Iona and Britannia wer a disaster for us. On Britannia we had covid and were shut in our cabin for 6 days missins all but one of the ports we wanted to visit. We were lied to by crew and the medical staff. On Iona my wife was harrassed by drunks in the casino and the same people were there every night despite complaints.  I am a six foot 15stone ex rugby player and to be honest the behaviour  could have resulted in a fight. My wife, luckily, is better 'trained' by her work in care and just warned the men concerned 'keep your distance' which luckily worked eventually. We may be just unlucky but so are many other cruisers. Incidentally I firmly believe that some posters on here may well exaggerate their number of cruises  and where they are at present.

Mike Tyson, we’re all fully aware of your negativity towards any P&O cruises.

Try Butlins, you might like it. 😏

Thank you for your courteous and helpful comment. What is the 'Mike Tyson' comment for? I am sure Butlins is ok for some...but not me thank you. I like a little culture .As to you  being aware of my animosity towards any  P&O cruises you have not been a poster long enough to know anything. I have had a number of good cruises with several lines inc. P&O in the past. What I don't like about them is their completely ignoring customers and lying to them. As it has personally happened to me  I do know what it is like.

I remember you posting the above and it could not have been nice locked away due to Covid.

Not sure what you expected P&O to do other than isolate you from others and I really do get

what it was like being locked up due to my HF . I never saw any of my family, our grandkids ,

kids relatives ,no one for over 10 months ! No one just the wife and the medics via phone .

Your good wife being accosted by drunks is not nice and fair play to you letting her sort it .

I recall Mega B  saying she had it happen to her . Jane had it happen on MSC to her

granddaughter, so it's not just one cruise line . .I used to tour working men's clubs and

it happens everywhere coastal holiday parks etc .

We all dust ourselves down and move on and in some cases avoid certain places, just like

your doing .

Hope you and your Mrs have great happy holidays wherever you choose and hope you

too get to move on.

Never mind working men's clubs Kalos, you should have had a career in the diplomatic service. What a kind and conciliatory post. Respect. Best wishes. Jane xxx
