I was going to turn diamond next year but decided to open up my bookings to all lines. I booked NCL for August which will push my diamond status back from 2024 to 2025 at least. And we’ll see. I was leaning RCL for the fall but haven’t booked anything yet. I’ll probably figure that out when I get back.

Not to hijack your amazing review, but why the change?  Just needed something new or tired of Carnival?

I headed to the MDR all hyped up for Mexican because that’s what the hub has for the lunch menu.

but that’s not what is on the QR code. The QR code is a Spanish menu and that’s what they’re having. I just went with waiter suggestions because I didn’t feel like making another decision.

Prices. Frankly I’m getting tired of seeing people getting offers to cruise…on this ship for instance for $50 when they charge me $1700. That was the inside then I paid $360 to upgrade. On NCL I got a solo price. And if I didn’t book NCL I was going to book Princess. And if I didn’t book Princess I was going to book RCL. I do have four carnival cruises next year. Two booked under last years spring sale and two booked for jubliee where I don’t have to fly. Other than that carnival isn’t on the radar. I’m not paying the same for glory as RCL is charging for an oasis class ship. But that’s where the prices are.

We dont get casino offers.  Gamble a bit but not nearly enough to hit their radar.  Luckily between the restart pricing and 50th anniversary sale, we have 12 cruises between 2021 - 2024 at rates below prepandemic pricing.  That has all dried up and no good prices anymore.  Have not looked at other lines but it will be easier to do so if they are priced less I guess.

Yeah but the thing is I’ve seen people post on here that they haven’t cruised with carnival in three years and they’re getting those type of offers. I’ve seen people say they don’t really gamble and they’re getting those offers. Then they try to make me subsidize it by paying $300/day to stay in an inside room and I’m not going to do it. No more brand loyalty for me I’m going for the ports or the ship with the price…not the cruise line.

I'm at the same point. I'll be diamond on carnival so saying I dont like carnival isnt true. I didnt like most Mdr dinners on carnival, like their white pizza and burgers better. I pushed to 340 pts on rcl last may and did 4 legs on grandeur, a old ship, for $1600 just to hit the solo discount. 25% off most all rcl rates makes a huge difference and solo cabins no solo supplement. I'm moving to PC and see mardi gras discounted some finally. Out of Texas its carnival land and carnival sky high prices. I'm paying about $650 this sept for allure inside balcony. Nothing old or new on carnival that cheap.

Obviously I still watch carnival prices and enjoying the LIVE, just wouldnt pay extra for carnival. This ship is coming to PC lol. So yea I'm interested.  ..at the right price.

Just before you get to the elevator area someone is doing this. I don’t know if he works for carnival or is doing it on his own.

We had this on the Pride last summer in Europe. He was there for several days,I don't remember exactly how many, but I never got around to finding the right time when there wasn't a line of people waiting to have their picture drawn. I know it was a complementary service but I wasn't sure if it was something the ship provided or he was just doing it on his own(My guess it's ship provided). Either way it's a really nice extra!

Sorry I just met someone I was talking to for about an hour.

I hope you were talking to the woman in the green dress with all that hair. I bet she has some stories to tell. 🙂

There is so much door slamming going on. I wonder if these are balcony doors slamming. I’ve never been on the outside.

Yes, and it can be annoying. People tend to walk in and out without holding the door and they slam. Most people realize this after the first couple of times, but then some never get it.😖

Oh so is that cash app link just for tips? When I went by there was just one couple there getting it done and I don’t think anyone was waiting.
