Best Hotel for Smith Cove (Seattle) Embarkation??

We're sailing from Smith Cove mid-September aboard Royal Princess. We always fly in a day early to avoid stress, and I'd like to know where everyone else who does this stays.

If you look around, this is discussed here frequently, and MANY threads discussing hotels. There are no hotels close to Pier 91. We stayed at the Hilton downtown, a taxi was a budget breaking (just kidding) $13 before tip. 

 

So stay downtown near the sites you might want to visit, and Uber or taxi to the port.

One of the closer hotels to Smith Cover is the Mediterranean Inn. It’s a 10 minute walk to the Seattle Center/Space Needle where you can catch the monorail into downtown. It’s also near many restaurants.

As the crow flys, the hotels around the Seattle Center are the closest and as @Glaciers kindly mentioned, you would be near amusements and performance venues along with plenty of eating options.  The Smith Cove area is industrial and I don't believe there was ever a hotel or motel between there and the ship canal.  

There are a few small places in Ballard.  There might be air BnB options, but as a whole the area is not easily walkable and you will need transportation to access the pier area.

Thanks everyone. Looking at Google Maps, I kind of figured this was the case. I'm looking the Hyatt House next to the Space Needle. Should be fun.

I'm always happy to see the Mediterranean mentioned as we are booked there in August for 2 nights pre cruise.
