Playmakers price increases

Recommended Posts

The wings at playmakers were excellent as well as the service on WOS in MAY.  They were WAY underpriced imho and I found it a steal.  As wing prices increase all over the US and distribution pipe lines, this is going to hit the prices on the cruise ship.  So I happily pay the increase.  Or do we demand the price of the cruise for others to subsidize our wing loving/eating venue?  I think not.  A good decision for RCCL, imho.  I want to eat them, hence I pay more for the product I prefer.

Oh I agree. Their wings were generally cheaper than most land based places.

that is because you already PAID for lunch each day in your cruise fare.   This should be just the "extra" charge to change your meal to wings.

Exactly! Since you've technically already paid for your lunch, the surcharge at Playmakers should be considerably less than normal, on-land restaurants.

My local Buffalo Wild Wings is $14.49 for 10 wings, 15=$20.49, 20=$25.99, 30=$36.99...
Playmakers are cheaper...

Their Nachos are cheaper as are their sides

Geeze, it doesn't matter what RCI does. Yes, go ahead and raise prices because you weren't charging enough and were giving us a bargain. It makes no difference that I already paid several thousand dollars just to get access to the restaurant.

Only cruisers....😑

The room service wings for 7.99$ delivery, got the BBQ and buffalo were definately excellent and an alternative as well, WINK

Do they seem to be the same wings?    DH *loves* his wings.  We won't be getting a dining plan.

Saw this posted on social media the other day. Lots of upset posters of course.

TBH, I thought a lot of the food there was oddly underpriced and don't really find most of the new prices to be all that out of line.

you mean if you totally forget that you already paid to eat on the ship once and now you are paying again for some mostly overcooked greasy wings with which cost 3$ bulk bought?

Yeh sounds like a bargain.

Just like the bottle of Yellow Label Wolf Blass which i used to sell wholesale for 5$ per bottle with tax that royal sells for 45$ a bottle and doesnt pay any tax on.....

thats only a 10x markup ... great value... make it an even 50$ between friends why dont they!

I really appreciate random internet posters telling me how I should spend my money and enjoy my cruise, lol.

You're totally right. I'm going skip Playmakers now. Thanks for the help!

I don't think anyone was telling you how to spend your money and I doubt that anyone cares how you do. The post seemed to have more to do with the concept of food being "oddly undepriced".

You could be right.

Posters telling others how they should spend their money happens all the time in forum-land. I have no idea why others care but the countless comments I've read of the years tells me they do for some reason. Perhaps that's why I interpreted it that way.

Just because some prefer a dining package doesn't mean they forgot they already paid to eat on the ship.
I personally do not eat wings often, and I have never ordered them at Playmakers, I have heard they are very good and not overcooked and greasy.
Are you speaking from experience? You have had the wings at Playmakers? If so you paid extra for food? Did you forget you had already paid for food when you paid for the cruise?
