Car Hire Honolulu

I intend renting a car when we're visiting Honolulu on the Crown Princess in January next year. The car will be at the airport car rental center. What is the best/easiest way to get to and from the cruise port to the airport? It looks as if ' The Bus' has a route that runs right by the airport car rental desks, is this a feasible option. Thanks for any information you can offer any any other car hire tips that might be useful.

Yes, TheBus is an option. More efficiently, a taxi or an Uber would also be options.

Uber worked great for us from the port.

We had a good experience with Charley’s taxi from HNL to the port which we pre-booked, they picked us up at location #5 an easy walk from the car rental drop off.

Also worth mentioning that all major (and a bunch of not so major) car rental companies have locations in downtown Honolulu and Waikiki that are a bit closer to you than the airport. If you are renting the car and headed somewhere else (like the North Shore etc) then going to the airport isn't a huge deal. If you are renting a car at the airport and then headed to Waikiki anyway you can save yourself some time.
