Ventura - emergency onboard

Anyone else on Ventura? 
 

The ship has turned around and speed boats dropped to find someone suspected of jumping overboard. 
 

Search and rescue helicopter on the way. We’ve all been asked to return to our cabins for roll call.

It’s celebration night onboard but we’re all restricted to our cabins for now. 
 

Hopefully it’s a false call.

The ship is showing as “restricted manouverabioity” on trackers, probably as the boats are down. You have also changed direction towards A Corunna.

My mom and dad are onboard and just face timed me , they have had to return to cabin as possible person overboard 😔

Thoughts with everyone involved.

 

Ship is at anchor to allow fast response craft to do their thing.

 

Roll call is usual, but not only, when someone reports a person in the water but CCTV and the motion detectors on the side of the ship don’t register anything.

Goodness what a worry. Glad everyone is ok, but if nothing else it shows how well procedures are followed if needed.

Everyone is onboard and the staff did a great job getting all the bars and restaurants open again.

Maybe a crew member or passenger thought they might have seen someone go overboard or perhaps a passenger missing on the ship. If the latter however there would have been a number of announcements asking them to call reception...

I believe the passenger food and entertainment was rescheduled, but the staff mess was shut for the incident and was not reopened to take account of it. Some hungry crew on board.
