Facial recognition finally coming to new york city

Been surprised that for a big city like new york they are the last to have facial recognition for cruises

I’m confused because I used facial recognition with Norwegian out of NewYork last year. I sailed out of New York twice with NCL once in the fall and once in December and it was really fast.

Yes, Norwegian has used it for at least a year in NYC. Carnival has used it in Galveston. Glad to see it is coming to Carnival NYC. We also had a very quick experience with the facial recognition.

Royal also uses this across the river in the Bayonne cruise port

 

Surprised it took carnival this long to use it at the new york terminal considering norwegian uses the same thing for many years

Facial recognition was used on my recent MSC cruise out of Brooklyn Terminal as well.

I opted out and they still used it on us...including minors 😡

Eventually there will be no option for anyone to opt out - it's coming for everyone. 

I hope it works well in Sept when I leave on Venezia. It sure has been nice in other ports.

And since this isn't "eventually" that is against what we agreed to in the onboarding documents between Carnival and I.
