Here goes O with another sale. On 72 cruises. I'm going to guess we won't be seeing the old prices that might've started around $1599 or $1699 for Gs or Fs on the older ships.

Summer Sale

Looked over our 11/9-19/2023 10 nights on Riviera in the Med. The B3 we ended up after using the Extraordinary Savings sale is $1749 PP "cruise only". The Summer Sale w/SM but w/out air today shows $3349 PP. So that's $1,600 PP more under this "sale". No THX!

The $3349 is the price showing on the website.  Is that the actual summer sale price? Because it states to call your TA or Oceania for the special fare, so perhaps it is lower if you call.  Regardless, I would doubt that a Summer sale would be better than the Extraordinary sales event.

Yes, the listed prices are NOT the sale price.  You must call your rep to get it.  I know because our TA repriced one of our booked sailings that is on list at a considerable savings (26%) off the listed price.

Hard to say. I looked at the price for this cruise on July 1st with the new SM program. The price showing today is over $1000 LESS than the price on July 1st. The July 1st price had been $4799.

We're on that same ship leaving Barcelona on 11/19, after you disembark. We were very fortunate that in March O was having an anniversary sale; so OLife included all three of the things of which you usually have to pick one, so it worked out and is still better than what we'd get with the new deal.

Hmmmm, you got all 3 OLife items? We booked a cruise under the  20th Anniversary sale and we got our choice of one of the OLife items and $600 in SBC.

Just since January 2023, O has had so many sales. Back to back to back. But the 20th Anniversary sale didn't do much for us, since we didn't care about anything OLife BUT the Extraordinary Savings Sale got us fire-sale prices and $600 OBC. I mean, 10 nights on Riviera in an A3 for just $1899 PP and another 10 on her in a B3 for just $1749 PP.

Now O has "SM" and throws in a Summer Sale, that seems a bit like the last "cabin upgrade" sale from just May or June, which was seemingly the leftovers at worse prices from the ESS.

Yes, as others said, they have a different sale every month. Just in March, as I guess the center point of the anniversary sale, they had a one month sale that included the OBC, cruise credit, and drink package.

Everything below PH2 is waitlisted so there is no sale price. The PH2 (no air) is $5149 on O's site with $3549 for the Summer Sale price. A very nice sale for someone who wants PH2.

The cruises with sales are on par with the Extraordinary Sale but they go well into 2024 now (Ext. Sale only went to end of 2023).

Some of the less expensive cruises (7 day CA coastal, Bermuda, Caribbean) are at that price point (or below). Some of them are on sale, but it only saves about $100. The real savings are on the cruises that are, say, $3k that are now $2k. Cruise Critic search was showing at least some of the sale prices (I didn't check all) so you don't even need a super-secret TA for this one like was needed to get early access to the Extraordinary Sale.

We just saved over 5k on our Miami to Buenos Aires itinerary in December. Our final payment was due today. Our stellar TA had to split the cruise from a GV and then rebook as 2 cruises. We did have to switch to simply more but this will benefit us a lot. Very please. Not all change is bad.

I should have specified for 10-nigh cruises. The shorter 7 day cruises are less "expensive" in total dollars but you have to convert that into dollars per cruise night. So I'm NOT seeing G or F cabins for 10-night cruises at the older $1599 or $1699 PP prices. That would be at $160 or $170 per night PP.

For 10+ days, the low-cost choices are limited to 2023, but there are some...

Nov 20, 2023 13 day TA Inside $1699

Nov 25, 2023 10 day Caribbean OV $1799 (no insides available)

Not in the stated price range, but interesting because it's the same itinerary that we both chose as a test-cruise...Jan 25, 2024 10 day Caribbean Inside $1999 (balcony is $2999 for 2021 comparison...how times have changed!).

We were blessed and spoiled to book our 10 nights on Riviera in an A4 for 12/13-23/2021 cruise in the W. Caribbean. Only $2099 PP. From the 2021 Presidents' Day Sale. They even paid for and conducted the COVID testing in the tent next to Terminal J. BUT then the ESS blew us away earlier this year when we could get 10-night cruises each on Riviera in the Med for $1749 B3 and $1899 for A3. The "cruise only" ensured we only paid for what we wanted and get what we pay for.

Yep, that sale on the Dec 2021 cruise was the key to get me to try something we would potentially hate. I was super skeptical about the whole cruise thing.

We loved it so much we booked the next one while on board, hoping that it would go on sale. It didn't! But we did get the $200 off PP booking on board so it was $2349 PP, but only a B2 on Sirena for 10-nights in the E. Caribbean.

Yep, we've paid regular price (minus a small amount for booking onboard, and also some TA perks) for a couple of cruises since then, and also booked a "bonus" Ext. sale cruise that is coming up soon...so excited!

Here's info regarding the all important combinability terms for the Summer Sale, but it's always good to check since some people end up being able to combine things anyway (e.g. shareholder OBC). I used bold to highlight the promos that seem to be mentioned the most on CC ("covert" made me snicker).

Promotion may not be combinable with any other discount, fare, or promotion including but not limited to Casino Specials, Travel Advisor/Interline fares, Not combinable with American Express CPP amenities, Premium Economy Air, Oceania Club Certificates, Business Class Air promotions, Back to Back Savings, Covert Deals, Consumer Events, Private Sales, Partner of the Month, Groups, Key Account Promos, National Account Promos, NCL Shareholder benefit, Casino Specials, Single Specials, Past Guest offers, Kids Sail Free, Tzoo/Value Fares, Close the Sale offers, Net Rates, Extend your Voyage, Canadian Resident Special, Olife Ultimate, International Specials, Flash Sale, Holiday/upgrade promotion or any other special offer.

The listed expiration date for the Summer Sale is August 31, 2023, but is limited to a specific number of cabins (so when they are gone, that cabin class/itinerary is no longer on sale).

I guess this include On Board Booking discount, even though it’s not specified?

Just curious, how does the Back to Back Savings work?

Not sure - I think I've seen others say that when consecutive cruises are booked that there is about 5% savings (it varies). There are restrictions about booking consecutive cruises and getting discounts, but you'd need to contact your TA/O to get details about specific ones.
