The new normal? Booking through CAS requires you to use CAS for dining reservations?

To my fellow cruisers who have booked through CAS: are you required to call CAS to make dining and excursion reservations?

Well, maybe I'm an outlier, but for my two upcoming CAS-booked cruises, I can't book either dining or excursions on the website, like I've done for years.....and when I tried through the chat function, after 15 minutes of (very slow) chatting, this is what I got:

So, now I wait...and wait...and wait to talk to a live person at CAS.

Anyone else having this issue?

Hmm, I'm booked  through CAS.   I know I'm too far out to book dining for our February cruise,  but I tried doing a mock excursion booking, and I can't book it.  I thought it was another one of NCL's "glitches",  but I wonder,  now,  is it because it's a CAS booking?

I hope this is not the case.  I already hate the long wait whenever I have to call and book.  I find that the certificate redemption number to be a little less of a wait than the regular CAS line.  What's interesting is the person on the chat gave you the hours for certificate redemption, but I'm not sure that number that is.  I'm sure it's not the Miami regular number.  They close at 5 or 5:30

Same.  I am booked through CAS for the first half of my back to back in November and I just made final payment.  I still can't book shore excursions.  Annoying for sure.

Nope. 120 days prior to departure, you can book your own reservations online. (130 in suites, 125 if you're in a club room or top tier latitudes).

When you talk to general reservations, some will help you. Some will sluff you off on the casino department. If you get the cold shoulder, I just call back.

That is a bug with the website. We're less than 2 months to departure and have not been able to do anything on the web site all weekend.

Update: The inability to book things seems to have resolved itself. I now have the option to book.

Circling back...

I did indeed call CAS and they said there's some 'glitch' with their system that is preventing CAS customers from booking dining and excursions on line (other stuff, they didn't say).  So, yes, you'll get an error message until they straighten that out....which I hope is soon.

(Oh, you'll need to call the excursions line to book those: 866-625-1167.  CAS can handle the dining).

interesting.

I had no trouble booking dining reservations a few weeks ago, but this past week, whenever i try to book excursions i get an error message telling me to log out and try again. an error message saying to call CAS or excursion team would be more helpful.

Have had the same problem with a CAS reservation. Talked to a tech and all they could do is to verify that there is a problem with reservations but no idea as to when it would be fixed. I doubt that this is in any way a new policy but rather just a technical problem that will at some point be fixed. Ended up calling CAS and made all dinner reservations over the phone for a November cruise.
