Barrycat Posted July 24, 2023 #1 Share Posted July 24, 2023 The CDC inspects ships twice a year to rate the ship’s sanitation practices. The results for 2023 show the Pride with a score of 90 disturbingly close to a failing grade of 85. The Pride does call at Boston occasionally so I assume that fact makes it subject to the CDC inspection. I can’t think of another Windstar ship that calls at a U S port and therefore inspected by the CDC, but my hope is that the problems found on the Pride were Pride specific and don’t reflect a lack of focus fleet wide. minidonuts85 Posted July 24, 2023 #2 Share Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) In addition to Boston, Pride also calls on San Juan and the USVI during the Caribbean season. The Star Breeze calls on Alaska (at least for now) so I’d assume they’re in scope too. Edited July 24, 2023 by minidonuts85
6rugrats Posted July 24, 2023 #3 Share Posted July 24, 2023 (edited) One needs to read the entire report to put this score in context. Appears all issues were promptly addressed. https://wwwn.cdc.gov/InspectionQueryTool/InspectionResults.aspx Edited July 24, 2023 by 6rugrats
BruceMuzz Posted July 25, 2023 #4 Share Posted July 25, 2023 More concerning are the local restaurants you frequent in America. The Vessel Sanitation Program (VSP) at CDC is only authorized to inspect foreign flag cruise ships that call at American ports. If they inspected your local restaurant, I can guarantee that the restaurant would fail.
marinaro44 Posted July 25, 2023 #5 Share Posted July 25, 2023 Pride also calls at Portland and Bar Harbor in the US.
