CruiseAddict74 Posted August 8, 2023 #1 Share Posted August 8, 2023 What is a resonable expecation of being off the ship (so I can plan for car service pick up) if the ship arrives in Boston at 8:00 am? I'm new to NCL. Thanks in advance for your insights.
phoenix1181 Posted August 8, 2023 #2 Share Posted August 8, 2023 If you're new to NCL & don't have a flight or NCL tour booked, you'll be one of the last off the ship. That said, if you're on a Boston/Bermuda/Bar Harbor cruise, you can expect to be off about 10:00 - 10:30 at the lates since customs is handled onboard in Bar Harbor.
BlushPell Posted August 8, 2023 #3 Share Posted August 8, 2023 I’ve done self disembarkation from the Pearl and been in the parking lot by 8:30 depends when the ship arrives and then starts the process. If you can carry all of your luggage you can leave pretty early. Also if you self disembark you can walk off anytime. Just remember you need to have all your baggage with you with that option.
dbrown84 Posted August 8, 2023 #4 Share Posted August 8, 2023 I'll 2nd that you can walk off whenever you like once debarkation begins. Just carry your own bags. You don't have to have a flight or NCL tour booked to go first
phoenix1181 Posted August 9, 2023 #5 Share Posted August 9, 2023 Walking off your luggage is definitely an option but, IMHO, not worth the aggravation. Long lines start very early and people are frequently standing and waiting to disembark for an hour or more. A lot of people do it but it's not for me!

Rare 1025cruise Posted August 9, 2023 #7 Share Posted August 9, 2023 Assuming you are stopping in Bar Harbor, where you will complete immigration, debarkation in Boston is a breeze. You scan out, walk into the terminal, grab your luggage, and go.

We didn't have a flight or a tour, but we were one of the first off the Prima due to self-debarkation. Not sure what a flight or tour has to do with anything...unless I'm missing something...which wouldn't be the first time. We left our cabin, walked down to the deck to get off...the whole thing took less than ten minutes (if that). I did not consider self-debarkation in my comment since I prefer not to utilize that option.
