Does Celebrity offer casino discounts if you haven't cruised with them before?

I am wanting to go ahead and book rooms for a spring break 2025 cruise to Egypt so I can get my preference in rooms.  However, I know that sometimes cruise lines give discounts for casino players.

My husband is diamond with Caesars. They have his information incorrect in the Caesars system and were told on the phone that we have to go to a Caesars casino to fix it which would require a trip to Louisiana to the nearest casino in the next couple of weeks.  We don't currently have any trips to a casino planned so would have to basically plan a trip to casino in order to try to "status match" with Celebrity or whatever it is called to get a discount.  Thus, I am trying to figure out if any discount I might receive would be worth making the trip or if I should just go ahead and pay regular rates on Celebrity and book the rooms. (Obviously, a mere $100 discount wouldn't even pay for the gas.)  Some cruise lines (HAL, Carnival, MSC, etc.) offer sizable discounts for casino rates, but I haven't seen much information about Celebrity doing the same.

I don't remember any discount, just the chance to get $55 in (promotional, not cashable) chips that is available to everybody,  I believe. I think Celebrity has benefits for MGM members. Dunno about Caesars. Have you looked into the Blue Chip program?

But they seem to be moving toward allowing vaping if that is important to you....

You'd need to go through UComped but they won't status match.  You basically get the sail only rate comped and need to pay everything else like fees/taxes, tips, internet and drinks although everyone playing at the casino receives free drinks

Thanks for the rec!  I will look into that.  Getting the room rate comp'd for him would certainly be worth the trip to Louisiana to get his card information straightened out.  I am wanting to book a sunset balcony and an interior room across the hall from the balcony so even getting the interior room comp'd would be nice.  (I book one kid in a room with me and one kid in a room with husband.)

I have not yet signed either of us for anything (through Blue chip program) or otherwise because his Caesar's card has the wrong name on it and I definitely don't want to book a cruise under the wrong name. It has his nickname rather than his legal name.

Do you mean vaping in the casino?

Yes. Look on the Celebrity main page here. There are a couple of long threads about Celebrity currently springing a casino vaping 2-month trial on pax on Equinox and Eclipse.

Agree with @NutsAboutGolf, URComped is the way to go. You can upload whatever your comp offer is and they provide a drop down menu of comparable comps and participating companies. When I used them it was an apples to apples comp meaning I went from a veranda stateroom on carnival and traded it to a veranda stateroom on celebrity. I’m not sure what the comp for a land based hotel room would translate to on a cruise ship but the URComped people will figure that out for you.

Groan.  I H.A.T.E. smoking and vaping.   Vaping usually smells slightly less offensive, but second-hand smoke from Vaping is still dangerous to inhale as numerous recent medical studies have shown.

Do you gamble at all on Royal Caribbean ships? I've never sailed with Celebrity before but I called blue chip club yesterday and gave them my Royal Caribbean crown and anchor number. They checked my play with Royal on my most recent cruise on the Allure of the Seas and offered me an Aqua Class all inclusive balcony on any sailing up to 9 nights within the next calendar year (excluding holiday sailings). My wife who plays less was offered an Oceanview room. I was pretty shocked they were just willing to give me free cruises just for asking even though I have no history with Celebrity.

I hope you immediately took them up on it and booked that!

Wow, good to know.  I've been dying to try Royal and despite calling them the other day, it doesn't seem to work backwards (X play to RCI).  Shortly after my call to Royal I received a free select cruise RCI voucher from the MGM and booked Royal through the voucher

What status are you with MGM right now?

Not high enough to receive the free RCI Caribbean sailing annual benefit which I think is platium.  From the start of 2023 until last weekend, I had 0 tier points and was the MGM status of gold thanks to the X CC status match.  Yet the MGM doesn't really care about status, they only seem to care about your previous play which for me was in 2022.  I've been receiving MGM offers all year but bit on this one
