Stay near FLL or Port of Miami pre cruise?

I am looking to fly in one day before more cruise on Sunday November 12th but I can get flight to FLL significantly cheaper than I can get them to MIA. So my first question is it better to get a hotel near FLL for the night then head to Miami in the morning to get the ship or head to Miami after I arrive at 4:00pm on Sunday and stay the night in Miami then just head to the ship. Also, what are the best options to get to Miami from Fort Lauderdale?

In the mornings they have shared shuttles  such as MJS & SAS for   $15 -$20 PP   that pick up at certain hotels  in FLL that will take you to POM

I'm struggled with the same issue and decided to spend the night close to the airport and travel to miami the next day.  Plenty of time to do both.  It just seemed simpler and less expensvie to stay ner FLL.

Very commonly asked question here. Given you are arriving late, and the shuttle availability decreases late in the day, the common recommendation is to stay in FLL.

 

Shuttle services, and Uber/Lyft are recommended here daily.
