A really enjoyed Carnival Spirits eccentric decor.  If you want a quiet spot and normally good wifi, I recommend the jungle promenade on Deck 3 at the front of the ship.  I spent a lot of my Alaska cruise there and very rarely saw anyone else.  And one deck down is Java blue.

I got covid last October and was offered my second booster just a week after so couldn’t get it then.. my brother got married in July so I decided to get the booster before that so it would cover me for my cruise in October.  Thankfully I haven’t had too many coughing to sneezy customers despite the absolutely rubbish weather here this summer so I’m hoping I’ll avoid picking anything up.

Out of Mobile right? That's the closest port to my in-laws' (aka my future home) so I'm taking a close look at that one as well. I was glad to see it returning Fall '24 since I don't see me cruising out of there before then.

Does the train slow/stop at the main viewpoints highlighted in that map?

Most of the scenery is on the left side going there and the right side coming back. I had heard that whiz is why I got on the left side of the train. But we had enough empty seats in our car to move back and forth.

Not really. But it’s not moving very fast. But it is easy to miss things that’s why the round trip was nice.

Oh god we’re pulling back into the station and a lady just asked that lady behind me to please cover her mouth. She’s probably been straight up coughing on me. I did move to the other side for the ride back.

I grew up in Mobile.  Sometimes I miss it but I much prefer the convenience of living in a major city.

I did the White Pass Railway in 2008.  Loved it.  It looks every bit as beautiful now.
