Taxi to the beach

Where do we go to pick up a taxi to the beach. Possibly Eagle beach. Not interested in a tour. We have done a tour in the past. Just a ride and then a pick up. What would the cab fare be and what is the cost  of renting chairs and umbrellas. Thank you so much for any help!

hey @zumbagold if you haven't already done so, you may want to see how many other cruise ships are also scheduled on your travel day so you'll have a better idea how busy Oranjestad will be when you arrive. this site is so helpful:

our trip to Aruba is schedule in February, so we're only speaking based on our own research (as well as feedback from our travel agent & friends who have visited in the past).  be prepared for a bottleneck of travelers wanting to do the same thing and be prepared for a crowded beach when you arrive. also: getting a full taxi to leave eagle beach at your desired time may be challenging since drivers will want a full vehicle before leaving.

if all you're wanting to do is get to eagle beach and back, you may be able to save time (and money) riding a bus -- or use a bus just to get to or from.  a travel vlogger was nice enough to share a video that literally shows you how to catch a bus to eagle beach!

hope some of this helps?

we are booked for a cruise in february and opted to rent a car from jay's so we can get out of the port area and hopefully have more of our own time while in aruba. we also wanted some flexibility to go to the next location if/when necessary.

from our research and trusted suggestions, we heard good things about Jay's and had a very good experience completing the reservation. to us, it was the cost of an excursion we would have otherwise used that day.  they're meeting us at the port with our vehicle, and we'll return it to the same location.

whatever you decide, i'm sure you'll have a fabulous time!  enjoy your cruise!!!

Can someone tell me where to get off the bus when going to Eagle beach?

Want a location where we can rent chairs/umbrella and that has a restroom.

Thanks in advance.

My understanding is that you get off at the stop after Eagle Beach.  There is a hotel there called Amsterdam Manor.  You can rent chairs/umbrellas there.  They also have a restaurant.  When you return I would appreciate it, if you can confirm!

Where do you catch the bus once off ship? Is it at the main bus station in town?

Yes right across the street from the port. Walk up to the ticket counter and tell the lady where your going and she'll sell you a bus ticket and show you exactly what bus to hop on. No worries.

We were going to take the bus also.  But there was a tour person at the very end of the port walk, right at the street.  Offered us a mini bus to Eagle Beach, $10 each, round trip.   Let them know what time to return to pick you up.

That's a deal I would have taken the mini bus too for $10 a pop and they pick you up.

If you happen to run into something like that and that happens alot on Aruba $10 mini bus round trip, you can't pass that up.👌🤜🤛
