How long does it take to get refund to Credit Card for cancelled excursion ?

If you paid fully by credit card, you will probably get a refund fairly soon. However, it's not so good if you pay with a combination of OBC and credit card. They refund to the OBC balance first and only refund to credit card if your total excursion purchase is less than what you paid by credit card.

Example: I have $500 OBC. I purchase $600 in excursions paying $100 by credit card. I cancel $400 in excursions leaving a $200 balance. Since my excursion balance $200 is more than the $100 I paid by credit card, they don't refund my credit card.

I am not aware that we paid for it, I thought they just added it to our shipboard account to be paid when we cruise. I suppose they would have to process a credit to the account.

Yes if you have OBC they put a "hold" against it to use OBC onboard. No problem to cancel, the OBC will immediately be available
