Fantastic pics, Bird. Where did you enjoy the best views? Balcony, Bow, Upper deck or OL.

We are travelling from the UK next week to join the Encore on the 17th.

Been following your trip report every day. Enjoy the rest of your cruise.

The best place is outside.

The bow is an “activity”. You should go there just to say you were there. You need to be at the rails to see.

The Deck 8 Waterfront has great views and you can move from port to starboard. You. An do that on the upper sun decks too.

The Observation lounge is crowded. And there was already a crowd there at 6 am. But there is coffee and light food. And a bar.

The Bird spent most of the day on the Deck 19 forward facing sundeck with 270 degree views. But that is a private sundeck reserved for suites.

Today, The Bird is in Ketchikan. The Regent Explorer is sharing the dock with us (we would not notice their 700 passengers mixed in with our 4200 passengers).

Ward Cove has a last-chance shop on the terminal.

O.K., more cryptic talk.

Earlier this year, NCL stopped selling flower arrangements for staterooms.

They then banned people from bringing fresh flowers onto the ship (putting flowers in the same category as guns and hand grenades).

Now, the small floral display for some guests has been changed from fresh flowers that needed to be refreshed weekly to a vase with sad succulents.

… to be kind to the environment..:

Journey in to a virtual world of distorted reality. The Galaxy Pavilion takes you in to virtual reality. Earlier today, a couple of people who enjoyed their beverage package too much then enjoyed their VR experience too much had some “vertigo” resulting in the closure of the pavilion.

There is also a virtual reality escape room… can you get out or do you have to cruise for the rest of your life???

Do you feel the need…. For speed?

The Encore Speedway is where you want to be. For the youngest drivers, there are sessions with double cars for a designated driver. The Encore wanted the biggest and fastest track, so they extended the track over the sides of the ship to make more space.

Good Morning from the beautiful Norwegian Encore.

We’re cruising off the coast of Vancouver Island all day (currently speeding along at 23.3 kn). We arrive for our compulsory  international port call in Victoria at 8:00 pm tonight (sunset is 7:38 pm tonight).

Canada wants to limit our enjoyment of the final hours of our beverage package. The Bird will point out a very important note in today’s Freestyle Daily. Lines will be long and service slow with a limited number of bars open on the ship.

I don't see the Haven Lounge on the list; but since it's the only one on deck 18, are we to assume it'll be open and we should expect much shorter lines?

Yes. The Haven Bar will be open once the ship docks in Victoria. And all of the Haven guests will be taking advantage. This week there are approximately 220 Haven guests (20 of which are “young” cruisers who have taken over the Haven pool).

Hi Bird! Thx again for taking me on another adventure!   I plan to do this exact itinerary next May on the Encore.  I am very curious what times the shore excursions take place when in Vancouver?  I c it’s 8-11:30.  Thx again n😍

We did not call in Vancouver on this trip.

In general, shore ex run as soon as ships get into port. The Birds had later shore ex in Skagway and Ketchikan returning to the ship just before all aboard time. In Juneau, The Birds just did the tram on our own time. For that, the lines for the tram were nearly an hour long when we got out there.

Thank you for all your efforts.  Can't wait unitl I go on my cruise in October.  Do you have copies of the breakfast and lunch menu's in the main dining rooms? Were they the same everyday?

The Bird will post breakfast/Lunch info… but it may be in a couple of days. Uploads are hit and miss today.
