Thoughts on Casino?

Looking forward to our trip in a few weeks. I've read the few posting here about casino options, but wanted to ask a broader question about what others thought about the casino play? Is it truely similar to Vegas play as older threads have mentions? What did you like or dislike?

I love Oceania casinos because they are non smoking, not so busy, and you can always get a seat at the table. I play Three Card Poker. The size of the casino will depend on your ship.

I’m not a big gambler but the casino experience is going to be dependent on the cruise. I’ve been on some Oceania cruises where the casino is not busy at all. The dealers were waiting for someone to sit down. On my recent Nautica cruise it was the opposite. Very busy. People were waiting for someone to leave the blackjack tables so they could have a seat. 
I don’t play the table games but will occasionally play the slot machines. IME, you’ll have better odds in Las Vegas than you will on a cruise ship.

How large are the casinos on Marina and Riviera? No attraction for me, but DH may enjoy a little time at the tables.

Always check your daily CURRENTS the night before to see what, if anything, is going on at the Casino the next day. They sometimes have "tournaments" for example. And they have teaching sessions, how to play the table games and roulette.

 

I don't gamble, but my wife did on Riviera (12/2021) and Sirena (11/2022). Sometimes there be groups and sometimes just a few players. Hit or miss. Nightly. She did like the tournaments.

Not huge casinos but a good selection of slots, with good VP and keno. Poker tourneys are good as long as you get the players of course.

 

I enjoyed the Three Card Poker as well.

Remember that in some waters, such as within Italian waters, the Casino can’t be open. Location counts.

How are the craps tables?  Minimums, odds bets?  I know that O only has craps on newer ships, but we will be on Vista, so hoping for craps.  Only reason I go to casino is for craps and one of the reasons I like cruising is for casinos (not available in my state!)

I was on Riviera last June.  Minimum $5, 2x, 3x, 4x odds

OH!  I thought O didn't have a craps table.  Is there one on the Marina?

From what I read on older threads, smaller ships (like Sirena) do NOT have craps while the larger Oceania boats (1200 capacity) do. 

We'll find out soon enoughy!

I was on both the Marina and the Riveria.  Both ships have a craps table, but I did not look at the odds. Good luck.

Have never gambled on an Oceania ship but I have a picture of the casino on the Regatta (July, 2023).
