Alcohol package, wait time between drinks ?

I've had beverage packages on Royal for all the cruises that had them for decades and unless you are three sheets to the wind, I have never seen any time limit between drinks.

I don't know if there was an official time limit, but in 2014 on Allure a group of us were sitting at a pool bar and were having a drinking day. The bartender asked if we all had the package which we all did. He had us give him us our cards and started making rounds of shots and drinks fast. I'm not sure why he took our cards is it wasn't to bypass some system timer.

Several years ago I had a bartender not wanting to serve me since I still had a drink in my hand , I told him this was from concierge lounge , began to argue and concierge came by and told bartender to serve us.

He didn't just check them. He took them all and kept them behind the bar until we were done.

We didn't complain. It was a good time. 

 

The next day was a little rough though.
