Sue/WDW1972 So would I be correct saying that we are only allowed in the retreat area if we rent a cabana? Rollie

Don Kehote Posted September 24, 2023 #6 Share Posted September 24, 2023 Honestly, it's supposed to be just for guests who have rented a cabana, but people be breaking rules, and the staff won't say boo because they fear losing out on their tips or getting negative feedback. mafig Posted September 24, 2023 #8 Share Posted September 24, 2023 How much is a cabana on Rotterdam? Can you purchase by the day?
wdw1972 Posted September 24, 2023 #9 Share Posted September 24, 2023 3 minutes ago, mafig said: How much is a cabana on Rotterdam? Can you purchase by the day? Depends on the length of the cruise and whether you're booking a regular (2-person) cabana or one of the two family (4-person, but honestly 4 people would be uncomfortable in one on any of the pinnacle class ships because they're so small) cabanas. As an example, for a 7-night sailing it's $399 for a regular cabana. Not 100% sure on the family price, but those may be $549. They go up from there, depending on the length of the cruise, and booking in advance you have to book for the entire cruise. If any are not sold out prior to sailing, they'd be available by the day once onboard. Prices are higher on sea days, lower on port days, but it'll definitely add up to $399 if you were to book all 7 seperately. Sue/WDW1972
SwissMyst Posted September 24, 2023 #10 Share Posted September 24, 2023 No, we had 8 persons using a 2 person cabana close to ours. 2 adults and 6 children. Staff chose not to deal with this. It is a chance you take when renting a retreat cabana.
Rare POA1 Posted September 24, 2023 #11 Share Posted September 24, 2023 In our experience, an assistant beverage manager will often have a word with cabana renters who abuse the two person limit. If there is an open cabana, the people might be given the "opportunity" to pay for access. The extra people usually disappear after that. I would not expect the cabana stewards to deal with someone overloading a cabana. It's more of a management responsibility.
SwissMyst Posted September 25, 2023 #12 Share Posted September 25, 2023 Management chose to not deal with the cabana misuse by two adult and six children, including telling us we would probably not get a refund if we wanted to cancel our reservation. Others have mentioned the use of boomboxes, etc. with no resolution either. It is risky proposition if you want the space for a quiet retreat area. But if this is not a primary concern, then it can be a special space reservation option as presented.
