No need really to call. I log into my account and look at the amount of money to spend listed in my planner. That's where I look anyway.

nelblu Posted October 4, 2023 #7 Share Posted October 4, 2023 I electronically sent my request for the OBC and got a response that the names did not match, therefore, denying the request. So, the next day, since this was the first time it's happened, I decided to fax the request. The very next day I get confirmation of approval and denial.😜 Went to my cruise planner for that specific cruise and the OBC was posted. 👍
Tlbecker1 Posted October 4, 2023 #8 Share Posted October 4, 2023 It definitely varies. Sometimes it is 2 days and sometimes 7.
Disney Sheep Posted October 4, 2023 #9 Share Posted October 4, 2023 This will be our first cruise since buying Royal stock. We applied for the Shareholder benefit at roughly the 3 week point and within a couple of days received a notification from Royal that our request was approved. So my question: what can you spend the OBC on? The Royal FAQ page says it can not be used for pre cruise purchases nor can it be used for on board service charges - and I guess that is what I need clarity on! Since we are Diamond, our drink vouchers cover our needs. We don’t really shop or get photos from the ship photographers. Can the OBC be used for the daily gratuities or for shore excursions? What about VOOM … except that we pre purchased that already. Appreciate any advice.

Yes I use mine toward my tips and anything left over toward prepuchased excursions or dinners. Ignore what it says, it's used for anything that is charged. When you go to purchase there is a place for a credit card or for obc. Type in the amount of obc you want to use.

BND Posted October 5, 2023 #12 Share Posted October 5, 2023 It has improved. DH sent in for several cruises at one time and they were all posted very quickly. In the past, he's had to email because the form just didn't work properly.
The Scurvy Pirate Posted October 5, 2023 #13 Share Posted October 5, 2023 Not to hijack the thread, but can you get the OBC for 1) free casino cruise (where you only pay taxes/grats); 2) free cruise that you pay to upgrade your room (say from interior to balcony); or 3) free cruise where you get a free balcony, but upgrade to a JS which was actually cheaper than the balcony so you still only paid taxes/grats?
