Raiatea (French Polynesia): Take 30min ferry to Bora Bora?

My cruise ship is 2.5k pax so too big for Bora Bora.

We're tendering to Raiatea. I was told it was a 30 min ferry ride to Bora Bora.

 

Anyone do this ferry?
What did you think? And what was there to do in Bora Bora?

I'm not sure where you received the ferry info but there is not a 30 minute ferry to Bora Bora.  From the main island of Tahiti there is a 30 minute ferry to Moorea.

 

It is a quick boat ride from Raiatea to Taha'a.

There is a ferry but it isn't 30 minutes .... figure 2.5 hours from Raiatea to Bora Bora. Leaves Raiatea @ 12 noon .... the return isn't until the following morning.

Bora Bora is the gem of French Polynesia ... to bad your on a ship that is to large to go into Bora bora ...
