Bayonne - Luggage Drop

Taking a Jewel cruise next week and the earliest check-in times is 11:30am. Usually they start at 10am and I have a question. I am renting a car and would like to drop my luggage and then return the car and take a taxi back without schlepping all the bags into the taxi. Being that 11:30 is the earliest time slot, how early will I be able to drop the luggage to the port workers?

I have dropped my luggage at 10 at Cape Liberty, that should not be an issue

It's been my experience that a 10:30 arrival time is not offered, if at all, until late in the 30-day window.

 

In either case, 10 AM luggage drop is probably OK.

So what you are saying they didn't allow people to register until 11:30 yet you dropped off your luggage at 10?

We have dropped luggage at Cape Liberty before 10 am many times.  We usually get there between 9:30am and 10am, no matter what our scheduled arrival time.  Just follow the direction of the port workers.

There is no firm time. Normally it's 10:30 early check-in, but for some reason that arrival time isn't always offered.

If you're in a suite your concierge may send you an email offering a suite luggage priority check in zone. On Liberty out of Cape Liberty (Oct 5th sailing) and we did...it worked out well. It was zone #6. Cabins were open at 1:00pm and our luggage was there just before 1:30pm.

 

Our check in time was 10:30am and it was crowded even the suite line moved slow !!

I have done this several times.   Drop off luggage then take rental to Avis/budget for return is about a 10 minute drive from cruise port.  Then take Uber back to the port to check in and board.
