I like some others have said, are looking forward to reading/seeing your review on the Princess Regal, as this will be the first time for 7 or 8 (still debating if one other person will be going with us) of us doing the Regal in February. Getting AWAY from MISSOURI weather is what we HAVE to do at that time. You re doing a different itinerary than what we will be doing, but at least we will get an IDEA of what the Regal is all about.

Hello everyone and good evening. Today was a fun and relaxing day. For some reason , the AIS transmitter is down, so I am unable to follow our current position on Marine Traffic or Cruise Mapper. It still shows us in Oranjestad, Aruba. . . We passed by Grand Cayman around noon and are on schedule our arrival time in Cozumel (7am)

I was able to see "Meet the Captain" where the captain will take questions from passengers about life as a captain on board Regal Princess. This was held this afternoon in the Princess Theater.

I also saw the steel drum class that was held in Princess LIVE.

The Captain's Circle event was held in the Vista Lounge with several officers and the Cruise Director.

I was very happy that I had lots of time to rest. I would like to take the mattress home with me because it's so comfortable.

The forecast tomorrow is calling for scattered thunderstorms and 82f. Oops. . . I'm glad there are a lot of duty-free shops at the Puerta Maya pier in Cozumel.

Here are a few pictures from today. I will be up early for our arrival in Cozumel. Thanks for tuning in.

Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to DAY 11 of "LIVE"  on Regal Princess.

We arrived here this morning around 7am, and were secured to the pier at 7:30 am. Regal Princess has been cleared for passengers to go ashore.

We are with Carnival Glory at the Puerto Maya Pier (That berths all Carnival brands) The nice thing about the Puerto May a Pier is that it is much larger and has more shops than any pier in Cozumel. This pier is just south of the International Pier (That berths all RCG ships)

I will be getting off of the ship soon to see what is new at this pier. All passengers must be back on board by 3:30pm. We had to set our clocks back 1hr last night.

Here are some pics from our arrival.

I have enjoyed your trip report, vicariously being back on the REGAL !

We have always loved the Regal Princess!

I see a new Captain onboard, and some changes to the menus.

You posted... "I was very happy that I had lots of time to rest. I would like to take the mattress home with me because it's so comfortable. "

Unfortunately, on our last sailing, in a cabin on deck 8, our mattress was just incomprehensible.

We had been assured, after an old mattress on a prior sailing,  that all beds on Regal had finally been changed out.   ( Regal was supposed to be the last ship to get new ones, years ago, before the pandemic.   Wow.)

Ours, definitely, was not changed at all.   It was BAD.  Insufferable.

I wonder if Princess has finally made sure that ALL CABINS have new mattresses?

Hello everyone and good evening. Regal Princess has left Cozumel for her 705nm journey to Galveston, Texas. Tomorrow will be a day at sea as we are scheduled to arrive at Pier 2 in Galveston at 7am.on Nov. 5th.

Today in Cozumel was very similar to several days we've had over the last 12 nights. Half of the day was rain, and the other half was sunny (or at least non raining).

The duty-free shop on the pier was very interesting. First off, not was very nice to go into the shops on the pier because the air conditioning that felt very nice. On the other hand, 8,000 passengers were trying to waddle through while shoppers were in intent on buying gifts as soon as they got off of the ship.

If you just walk through quickly, you will be in a lot of duty free shops.(over 50) that is sure to please any passenger of and any budget.

I enjoyed lunch today at Poncho's Backyard. They offer good food at reasonable prices. the Coca-Cola's were served very cold too. . .

I walked around quite a bit and was impressed with the Puerto Maya port. I am used to selling Royal Caribbean or Celebrity who uses the International Pier (just north of Puerto Maya) it was an enjoyable afternoon. I have been to Cozumel many times, and I often just rented a scooter, or rented a car to go where I needed to go. Just walking around the pier facility was a lot cheaper.

Tonight was Lobster Night in Concerto MDR, while the dress code was smart casual, many passengers were suits, and a few wore tuxedos.I made sure to remove my NASA cap. . .

You are a few pics from today. . .

Hello everyone and good morning. Welcome to DAY 12 of "LIVE" with Regal Princess.

I hate to say it, but as you know today will be the last day of the cruise. Tomorrow morning, I will wake up in Galveston, and I will be taking a bus to IAH (George Bush International Airport)

I have a bit of packing to do today, and I need to make sure that I check all drawers, and shelves for all things that I do not want to forget. I will be posting again tomorrow once I get to the Pier in Galveston, but the weather should be very nice, with sunny skies and 85f.

There are still some things I would like to see while onboard like the YES/NO Game Show and Hole in One Officersvs Passenger challenge. Clocks have to be moved back tonight another hour. I need to remember to do that.

Here are some pics from this morning.

I am so enjoying all of your review, and especially ALL the pictures and videos. I know you are on your last day, returning to Galveston. I never thought much about Galveston before, until the 8 of us decided to take the Regal the 25th of February, and it was leaving Galveston, TX. It then dawned on me John Denver's song, Galveston, oh Galveston....., and I guess that was the area he was singing about. 🙂

Hello everyone and good morning, Welcome to DAY 13 of "LIVE" from Regal Princess.

The gangways have been set up, and my stuff is all packed, I just need to put away the Radio "Pressroom" and then it will be time to get a little breakfast and some hot coffee.

My bus will leave around 10am, and I hear it takes about 2 hours to get to the Airport. I will be spending the night, and fly home tomorrow "I hate to fly"

I had a great time, and have many more pics and vids to share when I get home. It will be nicer when I have a good connection.

Galveston is a neat town, and if you are only getting there the day before the cruise leaves, I would encourage you to visit sometime and stay a while. The architecture, state park, The Strand (preferably NOT on a cruise day!), and just the general vibe of the town is super cool. We'd only visited for a day or two pre-cruise until last Christmas, we decided last minute to spend a whole week there. We could have stayed longer, as we still hadn't seen everything. If I weren't so scared of hurricanes, I'd be tempted to move there.

Hi @Radio, hope you're having a safe journey home. Thank you for everything you've shared so comprehensively and for allowing us to live vicariously through your adventures. Hard to believe it's already been almost a year since the Ruby made the trek to mark Princess's return to Galveston and now Regal is there to put its own stamp on it. Looking forward to your next trip!

Radio, once again as several have said, thank you for taking us along on your trip. I have a question about the golf range, or whatever you want to call it. You may have checked it out or you may have not. My son said it was a put, put range, and I said it was miniature golf. If you checked it out, was it like a "normal" miniature golf range, or just the put put?

Wasn't it Glen Campbell who sang "Galveston?" It is really a neat place.

Well, I will tell you. It may be considered a putt-putt range, but there are no hole numbers, just about 6 cups that you can practice you're put. I was up on Deck 19 several times, but never saw any passengers. there was also a driving area that was up next to the basketball / pickleball court. It was a netted area about 12 x 12 ft. I will check on my images to see if I have any good photos.
