Nieuw Statendam casino expansion

The casino on the NS will be renovated during drydock. The circular staircase going down to deck 2 will be removed and the casino will be expanded. The tables will be in the middle with slot machines on both sides of the tables. If they also can get Starlink installed BetMGM sports betting will also be ready to go. The ship will have kiosks where you can bet on sporting events.

Obviously the raucous revellers frequenting Billboard onboard were disturbing the concentration of the gamblers.

We got off NS in Rome Thurs Nov 9 - were told dry dock would include installation of the library & Starlink and removal of the staircase by the casino to allow for the expansion. Will be able to compare b4 and after when we are back on Nov 26.

Another thread has a picture of her already in dry dock. So exciting!

So happy to hear a confirmation about the library.

We love the library on the Ms. Rotterdam and are sailing with the Nieuw Statendam next month.

Anyone know if the staircase was removed when Koningsdam did her refurb?

We have always enjoyed the library - DH doesn't read books at home, but it's the 2nd place he goes when we gets on a ship (1st is lunch, lol). He was disappointed this cruise upon learning NS did not have the nice library he frequented on Eurodam,  so also thrilled it will there in 2 weeks when I get back on.😊

Are you on the Eurodam 29th sailing?  If so, see the roll call.

No sir; I was on Eurodam April  29 - May 6 this year for AK at which time DH made good use of her new library.
