Will have to check it out and report back.

hurry. the offer expires december 15th. and I was told today that it's a real deadline, unlike most of NCL's other false calls to action in their marketing efforts.

Did you ask for "gift of giving" by name?

the cruise consultants I've spoken to have all referred to it as "the gift of giving." however, the email offer I received refers to it as an "exclusive holiday offer" and does not reference "gift of giving."

I had just been waiting to hear back from my guy.  He said it was supposed to be for 4-12 days, but he ended up giving me a B2B on the Joy.  9/2 - 9/10 | 9/10 - 9/17.  I got a Balcony my sister got an Inside.  Thanks for the info!

Thanks! It's good to know what points level you need to be at to receive the better offers. We were always Jade and never got very good offers from CAS.

We've been sailing mostly with Royal the past couple of years and have learned that more points equals better offers. We're looking forward to our NCL cruise next month to see if we can get back on the CAS radar.

Tier status affects your onboard offers and perks. It has little to. Nothing to do with your booking offers.

As a cost cutting measure, the casino will alway default to any land based offers or certificate you have on file. I.e., if they can get someone else to pay for it, they do. It is hard to impossible to get them to book based on play (I.w., NCL CAS pay for the cruise).

First time on NCL and just trying to understand how things at the Casino work. From what I have read, it sounds like you get an actual, physical players card which you need to insert / swipe, rather than your players card number being linked to your room key / onboard profile like some other cruise lines:

Just sign up for your complimentary players card onboard at the Casino host desk and start playing your way to freebies. Use your players card whilst playing your favourite slot machines and table games.

How does that work if you are playing cashless and charging to your onboard account and therefore need to have your room card inserted?

Also, I read that convenience fees apply to using the onboard account; is that correct? How much do they actually charge?

We charge to our room at the machine; usually $100 at a time.

No fee has ever been charged.

Room key works fine.

do you have a high tier card with CAS?  I ask because there is a 3% fee to charge to your room, but maybe it's waived with some tier levels

Yes, as you charge at slot machine  it asks you  to  confirm  the 3% fee.  At end of cruise  host removes fees for higher tiers.

I think we are pretty low...nothing has ever popped up to pay the fee nor have they been on our account.

Maybe we are higher than I think?

I am Ruby tier (35,000 plus tier pts per year ) which is 2nd highest CAS tier.  In all the years since  they  added the ability  to download cash  at the machines it has always added  the fee.    Fees are removed  by host at end of cruise for top tiers.

If you  look at Casinos at Sea page on ncl dot com there is a chart that shows removal of the fees as a benefit  for upper tiers.

it wasn't always this way. but, yeah, i have direct experience with this very thing today. I hav pretty strong play and was looking at a 15-day panama canal cruise on the bliss. i was quoted $2400 for that cruise as a solo traveler in a BA category balcony room. yes, port fees are high on that itinerary and, yes, there are nine ports and, yes, admin fees run $300 on a fifteen day cruise... but they were charging over 1K for three extra days!

i routinely get 12 days comped. and have had several 19 - 24 day back to back cruises comped. (in other words, paying only fees taxes and gratuities). i passed on my $2400 "free" cruise!

the math made no sense. they will comp me 24 days on a back to back or even 36 days on a B2B2B. but a 15 day cruise? no that's crazy talk, apparently. (even though it would save them on CAS and latitudes benefits... just one set of benefits... one OBC distribution, one set of in-room amenities and fewer dinners on a single cruise).

ruby player, current tier score of 75K.
