mcgrate Posted December 26, 2023 #1 Share Posted December 26, 2023 Can you recommend the best way to get one way from Miami port (msc) up to Universal Studios in Orlando? 2 adults 2 kids? Not a cab as just too pricey but is one way car rental an option maybe? And where is pick up and drop off. We get in on a Sun. Or public transport options? JohninDC Posted December 26, 2023 #2 Share Posted December 26, 2023 You could cab or Uber to Brightline and ride the train to MCO - from there it is a rental car, taxi or another Uber to Universal. A one-way car rental for the approximate 4-hour drive is likely cheaper and more convenient - pick up the car at the MIA airport. There are flights from MIA to MCO - then use a taxi/Uber/car rental to get to Universal. If any of this helps you owe me a pint at your favorite local - Guiness please! 😎
xcell Posted December 26, 2023 #3 Share Posted December 26, 2023 Are you staying at Universal? I would think a car rental would be the easiest. I think Avis has a car rental drop off in one of their hotels.
Capt_BJ Posted December 26, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 26, 2023 you do realize that Miami to Orlando is 200 miles . . .

KennyFla Posted December 27, 2023 #6 Share Posted December 27, 2023 I second the Brightline recommendation. They have lowered the price from Miami to MCO. The trains are new, clean, and run on time. From MCO there are several options to universal
Flymia Posted December 28, 2023 #7 Share Posted December 28, 2023 Rent a car or Brightline. There are also bus options. Brightline will likely be more expensive, and if you want to do anything outside the immediate resort area of Universal, you will want a car. But if you have no need for a car in Orlando brightline will be easy. There are also plenty of flights, but the time for the train and flights is around the same, and the train is certainly easier.
