Or a late arrival due to weather conditions or medical emergency. In fact could be for many reasons so why speciale with unfounded claims of norovirus.

"We hope you are looking forward to your upcoming holiday on board Ventura.

During the last cruise some cases of gastrointestinal illness were reported to the Medical Centre.  To control the spread of illness, we have proactively stepped up our already robust disinfection measures.  These protocols were developed in conjunction with leading global health authorities and are designed to adapt to changing health situations.

As a result of these measures, embarkation will begin later in the afternoon, and we ask that you arrive 2 hours later than the arrival time published on your boarding pass.  We thank you for your understanding of this matter."

So if you are on the ship for the next cruise and received above info from P&O then why speculate when you have been told. If you are not on the cruise and not received that then I am assuming you have no idea and just "copying and pasting".

I am due on the cruise.

They don't specifically state norovirus, hence the speculation. I didn't expect to be accused of lying about it to be honest.

Same message and same ship a couple of months ago. On arrivng 2 hours late the embarkment process proved to be smooth with priority boarding.

Was it Norovirus? If it walks like a duck....

We have also received an email from P&O this afternoon titled ‘Important information concerning your holiday’, the email mentions ‘gastrointestinal illness’ and our embarkation time has been changed from 1.45pm to 3.45pm. I hope there won’t be any serious problems with illness aboard this cruise, because our last cruise with P&O (in August this year)  didn’t go to plan either, we were aboard Britannia when she broke her moorings in Palma, Majorca.

Thanks. Apparently we have some fireworks on departure as it’s a ‘Grand Voyage’ 👍

That will be a wonderful start to your cruise! It looks like the weather should start to clear by Wednesday evening, so fingers crossed your fireworks go ahead as planned.

Wishing you and Mrs Selbourne an amazing time. Cannot wait to hear all about it!

Thanks. Wind speeds also predicted to be calming for our run down to Madeira (first stop). Hope that’s right, as we had a very bumpy ride down there (and back) on Ventura a couple of months ago. Also hoping that our transatlantic from there to Bermuda will be calmer than our previous transatlantic (New York) as we had force 10 all the way there and all the way back (tail end of various hurricanes) which was extremely tiresome 🤢
