Carnival Miracle January 2025

Recommended Posts

We have never been on a Carnival ship, and I know Miracle is a smaller and older ship, but that doesn't concern me. What does concern me is some of the posts I have read about rampant pot smoking, unruly kids, fights, brawls etc. and lack of Carnival security to handle such things.

As in the title, the cruise I have booked is 11 nights in January 2025. Should we expect an older, calmer bunch?

We have been on a lot of cruises, all over the world, and have never experienced any of this. A little pot maybe, but spitting wild disrespectful kids, and wild brawls is not something we have ever experienced.

I have no problem losing the deposit.

11 nights in January is the cruise least likely to have the issues you describe.  Most kids will be in school and few young people can afford to take 11 days off of work. Or, if they aren't working, can't afford the cruise itself.

Every cruise has drunk people, and I've never been on a Carnival Cruise with absolutely no children. But if you go back and look at those reports you'll see the extreme events tend to happen on weekend cruises (booze cruises) and during school breaks.

Enjoy your cruise.

You'll probably still have some drug use on the ship, but I don't think there will be too many kids or fights on such a long cruise in January. Most of the problems with violence etc seem to be shorter cruises, particularly those over major holidays.

I'll soon be taking my 33rd Carnival cruise, and I have yet to see the level of aggressive behaviors others have reported.  I think that may be the exception, rather than the rule. Longer cruises will have a more settled group, with fewer kids, for certain.

I have been on 20 Carnival Cruises and have not seen the behaviors as others have reported.  I have smelled weed on a couple of cruises both out Galveston pre pandemic.  Granted, I don't hang out on Lido so I may not have the same experiences as others.  By the way, I love the Miracle.  Even though it is smaller never feels crowded.

My DH and I were on the Dream for Christmas. There were a TON of kids... but we did not have a single bad interaction. Others in my "place of faces" group had issues but they also had kids, which makes me think that when you're spending the day in the places the kids like, you'll see more issues with kids. We spent our time in the spa, comedy lounge, main theater, serenity, and casino.

Love the Miracle!

Like others have said, a longer cruise in January should be less likely to have any possible issues.

I've taken a dozen or so Carnival cruises and have only seen one fight and it was late night in the casino.

Have seen a few kids being a little cursey and rowdy once or twice , but nothing too crazy.  That said, I teach special education and, thus, have to cruise during breaks and summers.  (We also have an 8-year old.)

Go and have fun!!!

Have been on the Miracle 4 times, all 13 day cruises to Alaska, Panama Canal and Hawaii. Very few kids, and an older cruise crowd. The longer the cruise the age factor goes up, kids go down. All 4 we never saw any misbehaving on the ship. The Miracle is an older ship, but it’s a nice ship,

I agree, the longer the cruise the calmer the crowd and less children.  I love kids.... however I do not want a bunch of kids running up and down the halls at all hours of the night. (have seen it happen)

Our son started cruising  with us at the age of 3 and he loved camp carnival.  He always made new friends at each age, and had that one special friend.  We would take him out of school so we would not be sailing with an overabundance of children. We talked with the school and his teachers and would bring a homework package on every sailing. 1 1/2 hours of homework each day in the library and when we got home he would do a book report on our trip and the different ports.

If he wasn't at camp carnival he was with us.  Too many parents let their children run wild on the ships.

Have also been on the Miracle twice before, and you either love it or hate it.  IMO every ship has it's own look, just lie in people and the ports we see... if they all looked the same it would be boring.  Besides, this is they way ships looked back in the day... gaudy, crazy, colorful, loud, whatever you want to call it, but just remember you are able to cruise to see it, and most of the population is not.

Every ship has it's own personality, some like old aunt Gladys, and some like that person you know who dresses to the nines.

I just got off dream 14 days. We had what I'd call a elderly crowd and 19 kids.

I didnt smell any weed and if they were smoking I'd have picked it up. Food was much better than what I had on harmony. Maybe because it was a journey cruise and expensive but food was good.

I did miracle to alaska as a journey cruise and all those old people would get chairs in the buffet and line up on both sides to watch from the buffet with binoculars. We did have a naturalist etc and it was my favorite cruise but dream a close second. I'm diamond finally on carnival. Not a newbie opinion.

I have 503 pts on royal and have ncl princess and celebrity also as to my background when I say quit worrying. Those longer more expensive cruises are not where the partying is. Or fighting.

Hi, I’m planning a Panama Canal cruise on the Miracle.

Looking at a stateroom near the Frankenstein dance club. It’s on opposite side of the ship but only a couple cabins down from the hallway/ landing area leading to the dance club. I presume it will be noisy but I’m more concerned about smoke.

Is smoking allowed in the dance club? It is not specifically stated in Carnival’s FAQ for the ship.

Thanks, T

Smoking is NOT allowed in the Club. Indoors, it is only allowed in the casino. Outdoors, it is only allowed on the starboard side of Deck 10 in a designated area.

That is a relief. Thanks.

I did the 14 day to Hawaii on the Miracle in January and at age 57 I felt young again when I saw so many people way older than me 😁. It was a very calm quiet cruise and the ship "went to bed" fairly early. By 11 PM most public areas were ghost towns.

Yep, so much to do with itinerary. We are booked in an 11 day in April. The longer cruises that don't fit into a typical weekend-weekend sailing tend to attract a different crowd, with less kids, more experienced cruisers. Totally different experience than a three day weekend sailing to the Bahamas from MIA.
