GaTechCruiser Posted January 9 #1 Share Posted January 9 Is there any hope I will be able to watch the NFL playoff games this Sunday (the 14th) on our departure day on Ascent? I have read that there are some small TV's in the Craft Social Spot on deck 4. Are there any TVs on Deck 15 that may be showing the NFL games on departure day? Any other place that I may now know about (other than my cabin...) that I will be able to watch in the afternoon? Thank you! I know..... I am going on a cruise and should not be worried about watching football as soon as we board, but did not expect "needing" to watch the 1pm game on Sunday 🙂
embpat Posted January 9 #2 Share Posted January 9 On Deck 14 mid deck there is a large screen TV. I'm hoping they show the game there. When on the Silhouette a couple of years ago they showed the playoff games on the large outdoor screen.
Rare Galaxy2004 Posted January 9 #3 Share Posted January 9 When we were on Ascent in December, they had college and pro games on the various screens in Craft Social - Deck 4.

They will be showing NFL at the bar by the Casino, Craft Social, and in your room. It will probably be shown on the big screen near the Roof Top Grill also. 😊 1

Rare Georgia_Peaches Posted January 9 #6 Share Posted January 9 Craft social on deck 4 has several screens and multiple games. Big screen on deck 14 is a great place to watch as well. Only one screen so if they aren't showing your game of choice, try Craft Social. I really liked the game day vibe in both venues.

I believe for the playoffs, the games are set up to not conflict. 😊
tomcruiser1234 Posted January 10 #8 Share Posted January 10 I am A major NFL fan. This will be great. We’re on the Apex January 28. (Sister edge class ship) They will have NFC and AFC championship games. So watching will be fun. We did this last year.
r2h2 Posted January 10 #9 Share Posted January 10 Good luck on viewing the Saturday night game Dolphins vs. Chiefs as it is only being shown on Peacock(a streaming outlet). This will be the first ever NFL playoff game where one has to pay to watch it.
kelib Posted January 10 #10 Share Posted January 10 On the Ascent 12/31 they had the Miami Dolphins game on the big screen in Rooftop Garden.

Rumor is that they did that to hopefully to get all of the swiftie fans to sign up for Peacock just to see her cameo in the suite during the game. I will not be watching as I can’t justify paying for more services. We already are paying for ESPN, and Bally that shows many of the sports that use to be on the over the air networks. So it's possible they could show a game from another paid streaming service.

Maybe true in the U.S., but not here in Canada. We get them all as part of our basic cable package. Depending on where Celebrity sources their TV, they may not have an issue. Cap_D Posted January 12 #16 Share Posted January 12 It may make sense to be proactive about seeing if the games can be on the big screen. Last Sunday the Cruise Dorks (a YouTube couple originally from Philly) seemed to suggest the Eagles were not on the big screen in the Rooftop Garden and during the sailaway soccer could be seen in the background. (I have no idea what game would have been on around that time). I've streamed live Peacock events to my phone off the coast of Florida on Apex with Starlink and the premium package with no problem. Now that the teams and games are known the NFL schedules the times and days. Many NFL fans would subscribe to Peacock to watch any playoff game no matter who was playing. By selecting the game with the Chiefs it gives the possibility of many swifties subscribing just to see her cameo appearance. r2h2 Posted January 12 #21 Share Posted January 12 Maybe their cameras will freeze up due to the cold weather and no one will see the game other than those that attend in person!

Should have zero effect on international distribution which cruise ships use. NFL games...select regular season games and all playoff games...no matter what network they are on in USA are sold as a package for certain international uses including cruise ships.
